If I employ staff, can I ban them from wearing perfume/aftershave?

Since when has smearing a summer fruit over your armpits stopped you from smelling like a sumo wrestlers bum crack?
I bet it'll be a laugh a minute working for you.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
O.P you could employ the really smelly colleague in the other thread?.Seriously do you want your staff to stink of sweat?
Talc.... !! instead of deodorant? I never even knew you could still get talc! Its a laugh a minute this board. I personallly wipe a tescos horsemeat burger under my armpits every morning! perfect .0 -

Do you really wonder why asthma rates are increasing yearly and men and women have around 50% chance of getting cancer these days. There are natural and organic alternatives out there eg the crystal spring rock deodorant.
I HATE perfume and aftershaves, its disgusting. I hate the artificial smell and the way it sticks in the air and to peoples clothes. I like the smell of natural things like fresh strawberries not toxic chemicals.
Can I raise a complaint against my manager for:
a) having a creepy interest in people's personal hygiene and ablutions
b) using bad pseudo-science to frighten people
c) having a really poor grasp of chemistry and a vendeta agains one particular Aluminium salt, no doubt he's fine with Potassium salts :rotfl:http://www.thesmartmama.com/whats-wrong-with-natural-deodorants-you-may-be-surprised-to-find-aluminium/0 -

Do you reckon their office is full of fruit flies, wasps and ants all making a bee-line for his armpits - I've heard of half an apple being used in medieval times but does anyone really smear strawberries directly on themselves?0 -

Maybe, if it genuinely poses a threat to your health and if you have medical proof of that. There are rules in regards to workplace temperatures and there's the smoking ban...0 -

I shower daily but cant use most deoderant / anti persperant ..only some perfume I have asked colleagues up front if they think i have smelt bad on certain days when i feel rough and they have always said no but i launch out the perfume anyway as there are no shower facilities in the office and id rather pungent someone out with perfume than BO chuckle !!!
Have you thought about carrying baby wipes / cosmetic wipes / andrex wipes with you? They are great for a quick freshen-up... I always carry a pack with me now... after I got caught on a train for hours with no aircon and in the middle of one of the hottest days of the year. Now, if I'm stuck anywhere or have to do another shift, I can quickly have a swish over and it makes all the difference.
It's probably far cheaper than spraying perfume as well - plus easier on the noses of colleagues (if they don't like your choice of niffs).
