I smell one of Cliff's puppets here. It's seems that the post above is blatant attempt, by one of Cliff's staff (Ifonic) to have the post by magpiecottage removed.

However, I couldn't help but chuckle at the following:
That the email I sent was an unfinished, draft version that was sent simply because I pressed the ‘send’ button instead of the ‘save’ button an error anyone may make. I was placing the ‘evidence’ in the document before I placed my explanatory narrative
    What a load of dunderheids!

I really do despair of the gullibility and greed of people. Some chancer rings you out of the blue with fantastic promises and you promptly give him nearly £1000.
This comes out of the same stable as boiler room share and investment scams.
I am sure that if any company was actually able to recover these sort of sums of money for people, it would be all over the internet.
If they really could recover money for you they could take their commission out of what they recovered. But as any recovery is unlikely to happen, they are getting your money upfront and not having to make the slightest effort to earn it.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

The fact that my elderly in laws were spoofed out of money, just goes to show the lengths these parasites will go to to get what they want. Rest assured had I of been there when the original call had been made to my father in law, none of this would of happened. I have now spent £130 on a Truecaller box for them to try and stop these parasites from doing the same again.

  • I can quite assure you that I am not one of Cliff's puppets. The post I made above is absolutely true.

I was asked to place a post saying no money was debited from my credit card account. I was happy to do this is as when I wrote the post it was true. I don't wish to post anything that isn't; that would drag myself down to Ifonic's level.

I did send the email by mistake; I had not completed it, !!!! happens.

I have been in communication with Cliff S and hopefully we have now sorted out our differences. As far as I'm concerned the matter is closed. If Cliff wishes to proceed with suing me for defamation there is little I can do about it.

This does not mean I am happy with the cold calling or the methods used by Ifonics; on the contrary, it disgusts me and I feel foolish for my apse in concentration that led me to give over my credit card details.

I do have other cards to play should I need to but I'm not going to show them on a public forum. As I said the matter is closed on my part.

All this crap from an unwanted, arguably dishonest and intimidating phone call. Ifonic does not or does not wish to know just how much distress it is causing in its pursuit of financial gain at the expense of gullible, naïve and yes, even greedy 'victims' of the advanced fee scam.

Take it or leave it, but I repeat I am not a puppet of Cliff or anyone else.

Exactly, you were asked. I'm sorry, but your 2 previous posts don't seem right to me. No offence mean't, just my opinion. If Cliff S asked you to jump off a bridge, would you do it?
    What a load of dunderheids!
  • Of course I wouldn't jump off a bridge if Cliff asked me.

I an just an honest person caught up in Ifonic's 'dirty tricks' department. I didn't want nor did I seek any of this rubbish.

We can only hope that one day some David has what it needs to take on this Goliath. I'm sure that judges, juries and the media (especially the media) would find it difficult to have any sympathy for him and his organization not that this should interfere with the due process of law, you understand.

If Cliff is the same Cliff whom I think it is then he's got history, bad history. Made millions, lost millions, money orientated, will go to any length and depth to get his way.

I feel sorry for a person with so many talents that puts them to use for just his own pursuit of profit. He could do so much for the less advantaged people and get great rewards for doing so. Instead he choose a path that leads to conflict and insulting, offending behavior and taking advantage of the not so talented.

That if it is the Cliff S whom I think it is!

We are small fry in a big ocean I'm afraid. and if Cliff is desperate to make money by suing people who have nothing to start with for whatever reason there may be, what can we do about it?

I would urge that anyone who feels that they have been dealt with underhand by Ifonics or even if they feel duped, then please take a moment to tell BBC Watchdog about your complaint. There may be others who have been ripped off by this company and when they have enough complaints they will feature the company.

    https://ssl.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006mg74/contact

Might be an idea to include a link to this post in your message.

Despite earlier claims about my alleged defamation of both the company & directors, I can honestly say that I have a legal eye cast over these and other postings and I have nothing at all to worry about. However, should it transpire that this is not the case, then I'll be more than happy to defend myself in court.

I have since given Mr Stanford my address and I will await his service of writ.

This has also been highlighted on the Consumer Action Group forums and I have a lot of help from there too.

I'll be happy to keep everyone updated in relation to obtaining a refund and also any court action that may or may not be taken against me.

@Juan Roberto - You may class yourself as small fry, I on the other hand don't. Just because people have more money than sense and can afford good lawyers doesn't make them a goliath. I am more than happy to take ANY company/person on if it's in the interests of justice & the consumer. Doing what they did to my in laws was beyond the pale.

I have since submitted a SAR and when this SAR is acted on, the data controller is going to go blind with all the paperwork and requests that I have made. This includes call recordings so I can finally hear what was said to my father in law during the initial phone call from Ifonics. I have also purchased a truecall system for my in laws, so that any further nuisance/telemarketing calls are blocked and any that may get through can be recorded. Cost about £150, but it's £150 well spent in my view if it stops fraudsters & conmen from duping money off my in laws.
    What a load of dunderheids!
  • Chillip2012, I wish you well in your battle with Ifonics/Cliff Stanford. Perhaps I shouldn't consider myself as 'small fry'. Let's hope this bully is brought to justice for the misery he has caused so many people.

The company saw my addition of the template as defamation on my part, which it was not and was not intended. I did copy the message, on advice, to other agencies by error before explanation. However, these have not been recorded according to the messages I received. Should I wish to pursue the matter I was given further advice and contacts. At this point in time I have not chosen this route.

The company has requested that I post a message on this forum to state that no money was taken from my credit card account. As at the time of writing this post no money has been debited from my credit card account.

    What I put was:
A copy of this e-mail has been sent to your regulator, the Ministry of Justice and in the event that any money is taken from my account by you I shall make a formal complaint against each of the above to the Police and seek to press charges.

Note the words "in the event that"
However, I did immediately go to my bank and cancel the account as I had compromised my details and would not wish to chance my details being passed on either deliberately or by mistake to others.
This, in my view, was a sensible course of action.
I was upset by the intensity of the call by Claudio and his insistence that I gave my credit card details and authorise payment for £990.00.

I was annoyed that he would not take ‘no’ for an answer and even called back while I was at my bank and then again later that day to offer a ‘no win, no fee’ deal but still insisting on debiting my credit card.
    Both breaches of MOJ rules.

I did not intend to defame you or commit libel against you or anyone else. The comments in my email were not mine as you probably well know now. Those comments are in the public domain and must have been read by thousands of people. Clearly, you knew nothing of these until I gave you that information.

Juan Roberto's complaint was not itself in the public domain until this post was made.

And Ifonic is unlikely to get anywhere attempting to sue him for making its regulator aware that of rule breaches.
  • Hi all,
I also received a call about 3 months ago, ended up giving card details and had £594 (6 x £99 per claim) debited immediately. I panicked! I decided to wait and see what came through in the pack before taking action. I had a friend look at it, he is in the legal industry, and i decided to run with it, afterall, I might have already lost the £594 anyway (which devastated me!). Two months later I received a call from my bank to clarify details for a claim they have received. Finally this week, I have received a written offer from my bank for £4800. Now, I know I have to pay 22% + vat to Ifonics, but frankly, as a single working mum, i would never have had time or the inclination to do this myself, and IF the money comes through, I will still be £3000+ better off. It may not ne a fortune to some people, but it certainly is to me and my boys.
This is just my experience, but I wanted to share, particularly for those that are panicking and will update as to IF and when I receive the payout.
