    I would be asking whether the boy knew that what he was buying would come out of his parents account ? Some kids have no idea that these things cost REAL money. Bit harsh to come down on him hard if he didn't realise.

    If an 11 year old kid doesn't understand this, the OP has far greater problems than being down £80!

    When I bought xbox live points for DS through my paypal I found in the very small print a clause that said your paypal would remain linked to the xbox account unless you went into your paypal account on the pc and cancelled "further payments to microsoft".
    To be fair to your son, microsoft have made it incredibly easy for him to spend money, and incredibly hard for you to stop it.

  • This happened to a neighbour last christmas, the lad spent over £1000!!! He's having to pay it back himself now.
