I'm at my wit's end - I've just logged into my bank account and its about £80.00 short of what I'd expected. I called the bank and approx £80 has been taken by paypal, so I checked my paypal account.

Microsoft Luxembourg SARL have taken 8.50, 17.00, 8.50, 17.00 and 4.50 from my paypal account today.

On further checking, they took 8.50 and 4.50 on 24th December, but I missed it due to Christmas.

I've no idea what these sums have been taken for and have no recollection of authorising anything for Microsoft.

Has anyone else had the same problem - how on earth do I find out what's going on?

(We've now got NO money left in our bank account with one week to go to payday so I'm totally messed up).

Looks very much like MS points/live subscription if you haven't ordered any then dispute the transactions with Paypal.
If your problem is a transaction that you did not authorise, please report the unauthorised transaction through the PayPal Security Centre at https://www.paypal.co.uk/security.

My mother in law had this only 2 days ago all the same amounts but about 30 times adding up to £279

It definately is microsoft points and was one of the grandchildren.

I rang microsoft with the account details ( paypal ) and the xbox 360 username & they comfimed it. So go check the xboxes usernames & give them a ring.
  • Thanks for this I've just checked with DS and he admitted to buying 'a few' premium packs for Fifa 13 last night....
Hard lesson learned and the neighbours 2 streets away probably heard me going mental!
Thanks for coming back to me at least I know what happened.:(

Paypal log in details should be kept private, whilst in these cases the details were only shared with family members it does show a trend towards treating the account as not important. The more people that have access to an account the less secure it becomes.

Would anyone really allow grandchildren or children full access to their main bank account, it really is the same thing.

Maybe edit the thread title? MS haven't hijacked your Paypal account. ;)

Think you need to change the title of the thread. Perhaps to 'Any idea which of my son's stuff I can sell' ;)

  • Teach him a lesson. Go into his FIFA account and sell all of his shiney new premium pack cards for next to nothing on the trading system on there.
  • That's like catching a kid lifting a £20 note from your wallet/purse ... and then setting fire to it in front of them in a "you can't have this" kind of way. What lesson would that teach them apart from "easy come, easy go" ?

Seems a good enough lesson to me.

Hardly like burning a note in front of them though because then you'd have that back. There's no way of getting the money from these purchases back.
