Cold here, but no snow yet.
Work was busy but finally got all the machines working.
Tea tonight will be gammon, egg & chips.
A work colleague had a phone call today from her hubby to say he'd popped into the local supermarket, it was rammed with people & there were fights breaking out in the bread aisle, colleague then started to panic, she shops every other day & keeps no food in! She left work immediately to go shopping.
Fortunately, I have enough to feed a small army, so no mad running around for me.
    Have a good evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Good Afternoon every one I have been MIA as I have been giving DD a supporting hand whilst she is looking for work Running her to interviews,we have done five this week already, luckily none tomorrow ,just as well as snow is forecast. Its freezing here in the Medway and DGS are hoping for the white stuff so they can get some time off of school but I think it may arrive tomorrow late afternoon so they will be home for the weekend anyway.
I popped into the shops and got some extra veg and fruit and bread and milk to be on the safe side as if it snows I will be stuck indoors, as my joints don't like the weather when its cold, and its daft to go out and have a fall at my age ,just asking for trouble.I have lots of indoor things to be getting on with anyway so I'm not too worried. My lovely builder Keith is coming on great with my bathroom, and the radiator ,loo and shower are all installed. He is hoping to grout all the tiling tomorrow and get the wash hand basin fixed in as he's done all the pipe work already. He is such a super chap and always cleans up after himself and nothing is too much trouble for him.
My stair lift is grand and it makes such a differance being able not to just go upstairs once or twice a day. I have got the hang of it, and its so much easier than going up on my hands and knees and coming down by 'bumping down on my butt':):) much more dignified as well.:):)
Redruby well done on your DD getting the Uni she wanted .My youngest DGD Holly is at the Medway campus of Christ Church Canterbury so she lives at home and saves herself a fortune as its only 10 minutes down the road from where she lives,it means she can afford to run her little car, as she has no rent to pay and she has a small part-time job which helps with the petrol.
Right I'm off to make a hot drink and fire up the heating a bit more. Keep well wrapped up, and don't take chances on the icy roads
    Cheers JackieO xxx

We went down to Aldi this morning and the town was really quiet.
I got extra milk and bread to pop in the freezer plus an attachment for a vacuum for collecting ash/soot, so when we get a wood burner we can clean the chimney ourselves it only cost £4.99 it was £14.99 in October, so couldn't really pass it by. I wanted to get some frozen chicken portions but they haven't had any for three weeks and I noticed that they have changed the price label to £1.69 when they come in :(
I hope the snow keeps off tomorrow morning because I need to get a sack of potatoes and veg from the market and a bottle of tea tree oil from Wilkinsons.

Our neighbour works at the airport and said that they are on snow alert for Saturday

There is a rumour that we are getting a B&M here :j so I am watching and waiting :D

Cait I hope ivy is a little better today.

    Well done Ruby's DD animated-smileys-dancing-002.gif

    Afternoon all,

We are apparently going to avoid the snow, but it is to get progressively colder.....and we will have lots of rain.

Did a rather large shop this morning....blame OH but I was the one not watching my list so shouldn't really...have gone way over January's food budget, am now determined not to spend another cent until next month..will see how it goes.

We were really hungry when we got back from shopping, so had soup, salad, steak, mashed spuds, Christmas pudding and ice cream at around 2.30 so that was breakfast, dinner and tea really!

Have got 2 swims in this week, looks as if to-morrow will be out but might make it Saturday and Sunday, really feel better when I get one in..we are out for dinner on Sunday so won't have to cook so will be free..

Mossy has just helped himself to a large steak which I planned on stewing and returning to the freezer..have put him and steak outside and he can stay there for a while...the steak will upset his tummy as he has been fed already, hopefully all will be well by the time I let him back in....don't like him being out in dark but its not quite dark here yet, so he will be ok.

Miss Ruby...congratulations! Your entry system seems so different to ours, offers here don't come until August.

Where's JackieO? Hope that she is all right as she is usually here every day....but then I have been missing quite a bit lately, sometimes just reading late at night, when I should be asleep.

D4 has just arrived to collect DGS2 so should go and talk to her

  • Evening all

Well done to Miss RR :j

I went back to work today :) it was lovely to be back, and they all said I'd been missed! I managed to do almost a full day, left about 20mins early as I was hit by a wall of tiredness. I was a bit worried about how the setting up of my new team was going as I'd not heard anything (my colleague didn't want to disturb me), but we have 11 signed up to start. We need 14 but still have a next week to recruit, even though they start Tuesday. I have an appointment with consultant on Tuesday though! Typical but needs must, my colleague will cover the pm for me.

No snow here today....yet! We are meant to get lots tonight but I won't hold my breath.

OS wise - WM been on, LO for tea, pack up made.

    Have a good evening all

    Huh????? What did I miss?!!!!!!

Nice to see you posting honey xxx

It's snowing here. It's also snowing in Swindon where H is attempting to travel back from. On plus side he is working from home tomorrow, his boss has insisted. That is assuming he makes it home tonight
