    Morning All
White and frosty this morning. Brrr!

    :T:T:TWell done Red Ruby's DD!

My DD has got over the initial shock of finding out she is pregnant. SIL is strutting around like a peacock! We are all really pleased, knitting needles out then!:rotfl:

Dinner is M & S chilli that I got free. Liver & Bacon was okay last night, but a bit bland.

DGD is supposed to be coming tomorrow lunchtime till Saturday morning, but not sure about the snow. Hope SIL can get out to bring her!

Staying in the warm for the next few days, my legs don't respond well in the cold.

    Love to all

    Morning :hello:

I have to re-do the lining on my coat, I haven't taken it up enough gggrrrr.

Mr tru sorted his wardrobe, there's loads of shirts that are too small so I nabbed them – all that lovely material :D Just need to decide what to make now. There's a couple I really like, I'd like to alter them to fit me and remove the collars – maybe turn them into grandad collars - but I have no idea how to do that, would be grateful for links to instructions please

I feel really let down - where's my snow? *sigh*

I have a few leftover bits of veg, I'm planning to turn it into something fabulous but will probably just end up steaming it and smothering it in gravy for my lunch :D

Morning all, it's desperately cold here but no more snow. just ice and lots of it. Driving over to son's shortly and will allow extra time as I don't want to end up sliding into a ditch!
Both water tanks in the loft started overflowing onto my paths and although I managed to temporarily fix one, yesterday I had to have the plumber to fix them properly. The ice sheet left by one overflow covered the whole approach to my front door and I was terrified someone would hurt themselves slipping on it. I have a lady plumber I always use and she twisted herself into the tiniest space in the loft to get at the bit that needed replacing rather than me incur the cost of moving the tank. I was really grateful, but felt rather guilty that she'd had such an awkward task. Now I just need to earn more to replace the funds this cost!!!
Friend coming for dinner tonight so will be doing vegetarian fajitas......courgettes, tomatoes, peppers flavoured with garlic, oregano and cumin. No idea what I'll have for lunch.
Was interviewed yesterday for a DVD for carers about what family carers can do to ensure their learning disabled loved ones are safe in their residential placements. Very interesting seeing how the filming worked and once the interview got started I wasn't at all nervous.
Stay safe in the ice everyone.

    Morning all,

Brrr cold and frosty here this morning, wrap up warm and drive carefully.

Great news for us yesterday, dd got an offer from the uni she wantred :T, this is the one where 700 applied for 40 places, I am so proud of her, this is the one she had set her heart on, so I get to keep her at home for a while longer, although she may look to move out after the first year. x

That's great news , I'm so pleased for you , having her home for a bit longer is lovely , my dd is in the middle of exams and can't come home because she needs to revise , she's a bit teary with the stress I think and so DH and i were going to go down and spend an afternoon with her tomorrow , but it looks like the weather is going to put a stop to that, I feel so sad because I think she needs her mum right now  so having your dd close is a fantastic thing , well done to dd xx

its absolutely bitter here I can't get warm , have to go out later to pick dd2 up from school .and to drop a chocolate fountain off at my brothers, he is doing a kids party , we have had the fountain for years and its been in the loft so hopefully it will still work

Have a good day everyone , keep warm xx

    Hi all.

Lots of healing vibes for all who are unwell at present, humans and furbabies.

Congrats to Miss Redruby on getting into the preferred Uni - jolly good show!:T

Nlj a lady plumber? I'm so jealous! One of the worst things about having work done here, for me at least, is having strange men in my home. The chaps we had to do the new boiler and replace the shower were fine, polite and (once I pointed out their shortcomings);) good at cleaning up, but they were still male which really upset my equilibrium. Thank the gods we were able to arrange their visits for when Mr LW could be here (his boss allowed him to wfh when the boiler was done):A

My "smalls" carousel has died. It's fallen apart before, and I've managed to fix it, but this time it's terminal, as the plastic on the springy bit has perished and snapped off. I have another one though; L@keland duplicated my parcel, and when I emailed and told them, they told me to just keep the duplicated goods, as it was their error!:T

We have Mr LW's pal coming over this evening - tbh, I could do without it, but we haven't seen him since before Xmas, and don't want him to feel he's been forgotten. After this week, it's going to be mayhem at Mr LW's work, as they are finally doing the dreaded data centre move, so he'll be working 12 hour shifts; and after that, I have Mary-Fairy-Fuzzy-Butt coming to stay, and that's not a good time to have visitors, as I'll have to have newspaper all over the floor (Mary's very old, and incontinent).

Luckily for me, I have Megan the Airhead coming while Mr LW is doing the long shifts; she'll help keep me sane.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • morning everyone,

sorry to read that some of u going through really tough times so big hugs to u & healing thoughts.

I have my thermals on today, the heating down a tad- our recent bill said our so for gas &elec was going up to £230 per MONTH:eek: even with a yearly statment which said our gas for same period last year was a third of what they now wanted to charge, whereas elec was sameish! luckily we had a new meter that i can. now read so straight back onto them & now it will be £90 a mth for both! actual readings all the way from now on. the scary thing is if it had been £20 or £30 more i wouldnt have queried it.

I have put some draught excluder in the downstairs toilet which always seems much colder &thinking of making a close fitting curtain/ blind rather than my decorative but useless voile in keeping warm. Can u still get the things that nets use to hang from, them stretchy, screw in, thingys??!!

I made chilli, prawn & rocket spaghetti yest & 1 portion left, also got salmon en croute leftover so prob 1 ready meal, thats the 3 of us sorted tonight.

what caravan show is it Esmf73? we have a VW 1972 camper called Daisy which we are hoping to sell this year as my camping days are over with the Fibro, but we had great fun going to some shows.

managed to 'save' £300 by 'rebranding' my ipad as DD's for her birthday! she is feeling the peer pressure as her friend AND her sisters got ipad s & trendy looking covers/stands. how do people afford all that? that is big bucks even for me, the shopaholic! Well, todays is def a NSD & i'm pooped now so rest time beckons. ;)
