I have a question for all the winners on here.....

Just before you found out you had won, did you receive an email from ITV about entering a competition and agreeing to receive emails from ITV?

The reason I ask is that I received this email during the week but have been entering the Dickinsons Real Deal competition (online) pretty much every day for the past month, so to get an email about this now seemed strange and I wondered if maybe they acknowledged my agreement to this after picking one of my entries as a winner?

I am probably living in hope but it would be nice if I was right.

    No, they just phone.

Maybe you ticked/unticked the contact box on one by mistake (I know there was at least one itv comp where you had to tick the box not to receive further info when usually you have to leave it blank not to get any)

Well I have only entered the Real Deal Competitions, ok once maybe twice the This Morning Comps. I have always ticked the box besides:

Please send me emails about ITV products and services and selected third party offers

I just found it a bit odd that after entering comps for about a month that I got the first acknowledgment this week. Thats why I was wondering if it was because my entry had been picked out?

That would be proof that OMG works :rotfl:
  • just making myself comfortable ready for me joining the club before the end of the year :-) :-) :-) xxx

Does anyone actually have any statistics regarding number of entries to these ITV comps?. I suspect for the big ones like X-Factor, Day Break etc, it must run into millions, which puts the odds of winning up there with lotteries. It also shows how incredibly lucky the winners in this thread truly are.

During a four year period from 2003 to 2007 GMTV received 62 million competition entries, that's equal to 15.5 million a year, almost 300,000 a week or over 42,500 a day
ITV's interactive revenues, primarily raised from competitions and phone voting around ITV1 programmes, were £30 million in 2009 (2008: £34 million). There were almost 100 million viewer interactions, entries to competitions and votes across the year. The X Factor final alone generated over 10 million votes, up 28% year-on-year

  • This does give you reassurance that people do actually win these competitions - thanks so much for sharing - and good luck!
