Yodel delivery driver stole my parcel
Comments

Hi,
I booked Yodel via the My Parcel Delivery website link on MSE to collect 3 * parcels from me and return to the sender for a refund, the total cost of the contents was almost £ 180.
Surprise suprise that Yodel didn't appear on the agreed collection date but just after 6pm I received a notification from My Parcel Delivery (MPD) of the failed collection attempt ( I was home all day !).
I was miffed but rescheduled for the next working day, a Yodel driver turned up in the afternoon, grumbled about the size of the parcels and said there was nothing to sign which made me suspicious. He asked where a neighbouring house was and delivered a parcel to them leaving his van outside my house which made me believe he was genuine.
My parcels didn't get delivered so I contacted MPD whom started investigating and after much chasing said Yodel had declared the parcels lost and I would need to make a claim which I duly did and the saga started. It's now 4.5 months since I submitted the claim, I have to chase MPD every step of the way even though they promise to update but never do and their websites say a claim will be resolved in 40 days ( what a joke). I've been told Yodel were checking their depots, interviewing the driver and the police were involved. I chased again last week and the update received yesterday from MPD was that Yodel now say that the parcels were never collected and I cannot claim (unbelievable and so frustrating).
My recommendation is avoid MPD and Yodel at all costs, I'm seeking legal advise.0 -
I own my own merchandise company - after a week of painful searching and chasing this up I am now told my box is `lost` Yeah right 3ft high. 800 pounds worth of T-shirts stolen and also I am on holiday and this has ruined everytihng for me.
1 800 pound box stolen
1 potential customer of 10,000 pounds annually lost and -
1 4,000 punds ruined holiday. Don NOT use Yodel or Low cost Parcels - they will rob you. I am not letting this lie - scum bags - stolen from Sandwell Service Centre - this is one of many errors - jokers0 -
A delay of course.however the insurance will cover the cost.No?0

Hi everyone,
I know this is an old thread but thought I'd share how I solved my Yodel problem:
I was expecting a parcel via Ebay Global Shipping Programme which was not delivered. I only realised this using Ebay's online tracking system - seeing that it was suddenly marked as "delivered". I had no card, nothing. I disputed this with both the seller, Ebay and 13-ten (the mailing house which used Yodel to deliver). I got nowhere - notably 13-ten said the Yodel driver confirmed he had delivered the parcel to a safe place, when I questioned what safe place, they said "a safe place is wherever the driver deems it to be safe". What a joke.
Long story, shortened... I tracked down the Yodel dispatch office which would have dispatched my parcel, in Mitcham, and sent my partner down there! (More because I had to look after our 9 month old so it was easier for him to go instead of me, but I digress). He gained access literally through the back door and started loudly demanding to know where the parcel was, who delivers to our area, and demanding to talk to the driver. The people/minions were surprised and someone in authority was called... eventually my partner was given the telephone number (can you believe it!) of the driver himself. He called and called and eventually was called back, with the driver explaining he was not the driver for our area and didn't understand why he had been called. By this point my partner had left the dispatch centre so couldn't follow this up in person. However, he told this person that he would be going back to Mitcham to find the driver and that if he knew him, he should warn the driver.
Low and behold, guess what turns up a day later? The parcel. It was open and had been lamely patched up with tape, one of the items already out of its protective cellophane, but the other in tact. When I asked the driver where he'd been with the parcel and what had happened, he gave me a long-winded explanation which was unsupported by both the physical and circumstantial evidence. I looked him in the eye and he looked right back, both of us knowing he was lying through his teeth.
Moral of the story - get down to the dispatch centre and kick off, and you'll get your parcel! I cannot believe it came to that, and moreover, that it worked.0 -
They have not got any better!
I have had a laptop which was given to them to deliver!
They left a card on the Friday and the tracking shows it as delivered on the Monday.
Yet it was not delivered and there was probably no one at the house at that time!
They advertise their live chat as operating today yet it is always "not available try later".0 -
Tuesday:
Order Placed
Thursday:
Three items of an Amazon order (prime next day delivery) arrived at Yodel depot @ 05:12am. Yodel had too many parcels to deliver so drafted in 'reputable' third party to deliver. Driver dropped off two parcels when questioned apparently they were on another van. Package never arrived that day
Saturday:
Spent 3 hours at Yodel depot only to be told they could not find the third parcel. Queried delivery driver and each time told a different story to different people.
Basically the Yodel drivers/staff are 'lifting' goods whilst at the depot.
I have raised an 'investigation' into the disappearance of the package but don't hold much hope for any adequate resolution - its just annoying to take 2 days off work and spend a Saturday morning looking for a package that isn't there. also I was there 7 other people who had had similar problems0 -

Yodel was used for an online delivery. Nothing was received. Yodel claim on the items tracking to have posted it through my letterbox, but this is obviously a lie because the package dimensions as stated on the website are much bigger than any UK letterbox!!
Do you need a licence to trade as a courier in the UK? If you do then their licence should be revoked. What they are doing is fraud!0
