Househop has this all been a scam

Our house is relatively inexpensive and perfect for first time buyers, good size bedrooms and garden. Also, it looks nice!!
Hope that's useful and good luck.
Thank you for your information it is very helpful.
Did you take the photographs and provide the descriptions or was all this done for you by Emoov and how did it look on Rightmove and is it still online.
We are very interested because we ar pensioners and want to try and get the best deal if we can, kind regards.0 -
The online agent got another company (nichecom) to come and take photos and do floor plan (also do EPC's but we got ours for free with a solicitors). This was all included with the upfront fee we paid to Househop, however, with Emoov I think they charge for extras (but still a good deal.)
The professional photographer knew exactly what photos to take, the right angle, and moved stuff about that distracted the eye to get the best shots. Some photos I have seen on line are shocking to say the least!
The description was written up by someone from the agency based on the photos, then we were sent a draft to change as needed. I was impressed how well they had done considering they had not visited the property! We feel in complete control of how our house is marketed which is what we have liked most about this process so far.
We're still on Rightmove, you can search for it on LE2 9RL if you like, it's on at £97000.
The main difference is the viewings, if you would rather not be there to see people mooch around and comment on your home in front of you then maybe an online agent is not ideal. I have also realised that the fees to high street agents can vary greatly and you could get a good deal there if you shop around.0 -

Thank you very much for your information and time as we appretiate any constructive infomation given.
There is so much involved in selling any property these days and a lot of considerations have to be considered and no two properties are the same, similar maybe.
We are getting our property into the best condition possible that we can manage ourselves, painting - cleaning etc so that when a valuation is made we can move on from there.
I would personally rather get an EA to market the property but only on my terms if that was possible. I feel that the position of the property which is within ten minutes or less walking distance of most of the main shops - railway station - main bus routes, and the area is flat so easy walking. Schools are within easy reach and with us having three bedrooms a enclosed garden at the rear parking for several cars and it should not struggle on the market. Nothing is easy but thanks again and I/we will certainly be looking at all points that you have experienced plus we will look at your propert on RightMove soon. Again many thanks and all the best to you and yours with your sale we hope that everything goes well.:)
Just checked RightMove and I must say that everything has been done to describe your property with taste and with full descriptions given and first class photos - we are very impressed indeed.0 -
Hi Bon33, JulesDay,
You guys mentioned eMoov agreed to take your listing and add then to rightmove and Zoopla etc at no extra cost other than the board is that accurate? We are in a similar position having only paid up to Househop in mid December only to find with viewings booked no feedback from them and then their email. Unfortunately we haven't had any response back to our emails to move us over to eMoov and emoov haven't any feedback from Househop to pass on our "media file" so they can take our listing. Can you advise if the communication with John Tighe at Househop was via his email alone or is there a alternative that they are responsive to in forwarding your details to emoov?
From Bon33.."I have spoken to EMOOV this morning to see if them taking on Househops client list is true and they said it is. They also said that this would cover the listing on rightmove, calls etc....when I mentioned the new board they said it would cost extra"

i I see what you mean but I'm sure these people know they are in financial trouble and still take the money.
That's a chicken and egg arguement
If 2 months ago they had decided that they were in financial trouble and stopped trading they would have had to send out letters to all their then customers.
Some of which would have said:
"but you must have know that you were in trouble 2 months ago"

Hi, the deal was to pay £99 to Emoov, and yes, a new board is extra if you want it. It was slow to get a response from John Tighe initially but it was through his email. We added some pressure by insisting on a response - " If you wish to demonstrate your professionalism and integrity towards your clients" and this seemed to get us a swifter reply!Hi Bon33, JulesDay,

Is your property still listed on Rightmove with Househop or have they removed it?
Hope it gets sorted, I know it's very frustrating.0 -
Hi JoolsDay,
Thxs for the feedback and advise with the email approach with John Tighe. Our property is still on Zoopla, but no longer on Rightmove .... did you have to pay extra for yours to be re-added to these sites or just the £99 to emoov and extra for the board?
The most frustrating part is I can provide emoov all the photos, EPC and from the current Zoopla listing the wording and floor plans ...it's simply a case of changing Househop with emoov as the online estate agent ..... but without Househop giving thier approval nothing can happen!

I had exactly the same headache, I spoke to Russell from Emoov directly but he could only offer me £295 instead of their cheapest £395 deal to clients. That's when we got on John's back to get it sorted.
Yes, once the details had been sent to Emoov from Househop, Emoov contacted me on the same day to make the one-off payment which includes posting on all websites - no extra costs for that. Our property was listed by the next morning.0
