Jools John has contacted me today to advise that my details have been sent over to you know where and they will be in touch tomorrow apparently.
Yes, we had contact too saying the same but have still not heard from the other company, so it stays listed for the weekend. Could you let me know when you hear from them? Hope all this drama was for this week only as I don't fancy another week of uncertainty.0 -
Not being funny but who the bloody hell are House Hop anyway? Never heard of them. You must be hopping mad!
And the moral of the story - don't be a cheapo, list the house with a respectable high street agent. True it might cost a bit more let's face it - most will only charge a fee when it's sold. I'd be very reluctant to pay upfront anyway.0 -

i think thats a bit unfair! when you are at the lower end of the market to save £4500 by using an estate agent or lose £700 trying to save some money doesnt mean you are a cheap person, it just means you cannot afford to sell if you added the agent fees on too.0 -

I am now listed on Emoov, I have paid my money to them and John has sent all the details over and I am now live on rightmove.
So if you have replied to John the next step is to contact Emoov.0 -

Totally disagree, it isn't a "bit more" but loads more that high street agents charge. I saved literally thousands of pounds selling my home through the online agent House Network rather than a local high street agent.
As with anything expensive you buy, do your research, choose a reputable online agent and if possible pay with a credit card for added protection.Captain_Frugal wrote: »list the house with a respectable high street agent.
Many people would say that there's no such thing as a respectable high street agent!

If you have a property that will be hard to sell in the current climate then I can understand how a good high street agent could be a sensible choice.
However, we've now been listed on Right move with Emoov since last Wednesday, had two viewings already and one offer. We knew our house would not be hard to attract buyers and so online agents makes the most sense. If we go ahead and accept this offer then £600 is about right for some decent photos and a few phone calls.0 -

Congratulations on your success in selling your property so soon after putting it on Emoov, you have certainly done well.
If you don't mind me asking when you said that...
We knew our house would not be hard to attract buyers
What was the reasoning that made you say this?
The reason that I am asking is that we will be putting our Bungalow onto the market soon, and we are looking for any help in deciding choices of who to market it with, if you get my point. Thank's ...0 -

Hi Bertie,
We did lots of research and had a couple of high street agents out to do evaluations who were very keen to market this. Also have been leafleted by agents many times ("we've sold your neighbours now let us sell yours" "buyers waiting" type of thing).
Mainly looked at all the other houses in the area and compared how quickly they were selling and for how much (check sold house prices on Right Move). It gives you a good indication of what to expect - also seems to be mainly what the agents do to get their valuations!!
Our house is relatively inexpensive and perfect for first time buyers, good size bedrooms and garden. Also, it looks nice!!
Hope that's useful and good luck.0 -
We sold our house through the housing association (50 per cent shared ownership). I took the photos, drew up floorplans and wrote the particulars. They don't list on rightmove only zoopla. It went up on Friday, we had a viewing on Monday and one on Tuesday. The Tuesday viewer has bought
For this they are charging £500. We did even get a board! Now that's what I call a swizz!! MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j
£10 a day challenge Aug £408.50, Sept £90
