Vanguard's LifeStrategy remains very popular around these parts
Not sure that's a valid conclusion from the poll - it would surely be more accurate to conclude that VLS remains very popular among those choosing to respond to a poll about VLS?

Much like the danger of reading too much into the Pavlovian responses of those who vote in the biannual self-fulfilling MSE 'tell us again how wonderful First Direct is' polls.... ;)

If you are selling your share / fund invested in SIIP are they subject to CGT?
When is approximately Vanguard will be introducing SIIP?

You don't pay UK taxes on income or capital gains when they happen in a SIPP. But 75% of the money you eventually withdraw from the SIPP will be taxable at your marginal rate, so the more value you have created in your SIPP, the more tax you may pay.

    https://www.vanguardinvestor.co.uk/investing-explained/investment-account-types says
    We're launching a Pension (SIPP)

Register your interest and we'll let you know when our Pension is ready to launch (end of 2018)

Hi everyone. I've closed the poll.

If you'd still like to start afresh feel free to start a new discussion with or without a new poll.

    Thank you! :)

I can’t believe it’s been over 7 years since creating this thread. How time has just flown by...

My circumstances have changed and I’m now ready to start investing again. I’m on the property ladder, happy and going strong so feel now is the time to start a fresh!

Its been a long time since I have looked at investments but naturally I have come back here to get my knowledge back up. Having spent 10 minutes putting in a little research, it appears VanguardInvestor is the ideal platform to use for this fund.

    Anyone disagree?

What’s everyone else’s thoughts on these funds at this moment in time?

Wondering if a poll would be useful to gage where everyone is at?

    :j

    Planning for my future early

:T Thank you to the members of the MSE Forum :T
  • Depends how much are you investing and how often do you plan to trade or drawdown?

If you're just starting out (again) and don't have much invested, a low percentage-based fee (like at vanguardinvestor) is going to be the cheapest way. If you have a substantial amount of money to invest a fixed-fee/transaction fee based platform like IWeb will be cheaper.

What’s everyone else’s thoughts on these funds at this moment in time?
The funds still do what they did when you were last here. Nothing about how they work has really changed since they reduced the share of equities allocated to the UK stock market to 25% from higher - but that was years ago.
Wondering if a poll would be useful to gage where everyone is at?
Not if the questions were as poorly thought out as last time.

But you could use the search tool to read some of the hundreds of threads that mention the fund or the tens of threads that talk about how people are investing in the current market circumstances.
