Its been a long time since I have looked at investments but naturally I have come back here to get my knowledge back up. Having spent 10 minutes putting in a little research, it appears VanguardInvestor is the ideal platform to use for this fund.

    Anyone disagree?

If you're just starting out (again) and don't have much invested, a low percentage-based fee (like at vanguardinvestor) is going to be the cheapest way. If you have a substantial amount of money to invest a fixed-fee/transaction fee based platform like IWeb will be cheaper.

What’s everyone else’s thoughts on these funds at this moment in time?
The funds still do what they did when you were last here. Nothing about how they work has really changed since they reduced the share of equities allocated to the UK stock market to 25% from higher - but that was years ago.
Wondering if a poll would be useful to gage where everyone is at?
Not if the questions were as poorly thought out as last time.

But you could use the search tool to read some of the hundreds of threads that mention the fund or the tens of threads that talk about how people are investing in the current market circumstances.

  • With all these threads about Vanguard Lifestrategy, it's difficult to sort the wheat from the chaff. Perhaps we should have a poll about which is the best thread about Vanguard Lifestrategy?

What are your objectives for this new investment? Have you considered if a S&S Lifetime ISA (with 25% bonus) or Pension (with tax advantage) might be more beneficial for your needs than a S&S ISA?
