I have VG 60 and 80 acc in both accounts but was thinking maybe not to buy more for the savings and start purchasing something else, maybe woodford or something else, just thinking should I soley purchase VG or mix it up a bit I spose
  • I think you would be UK overweight if adding Woodford and you will then have same stock in both funds e.g. both funds will hold Astra Zeneca etc and you won't really be diversifying as a result, just buying more of same stock.

If you have a look at some of the advice on this thread where bowlhead and a few others gave some great advice:

I take it we should wait a while before investing again since the £ has tanked!

    As I type

FTSE & FTAS down around 5%, DAX down 6%, HSI down 3%, Nikkei down 8% (DOW up 1%)

What date does your crystal ball tell you to start/restart investing?

Don't worry, just wait for the £ to un-tank, for example by having our government negotiate an awesome prosperity-enhancing trade deal with key international partners, such as one that allows free movement of people and goods and services among tens of nearby countries.

Although, the majority of the country who said let's leave an agreement like that, might have some complaint.

All that was on the ballot was leave the EU. There was no definition of what would come afterwards! The government could agree such a deal and be fully compliant with the mandate from the vote.

I would invest when I have the money.
If you're investing in the UK then the value of the £ makes no difference. If you're investing elsewhere then you'll get less assets for your money but it could drop more.
Drops in the stock market will have more or equal impact to currency fluctuations.

Hmm, I want to get on the housing ladder in my mid-late twenties really. I'd rather pay towards a house that'll eventually be mine than paying another person's mortgage. Perhaps it's best to wait in that event until I've got the house.

    Thanks for the advice.

I think, you have misunderstood the advice given by knowledgeable people here on VGL. Many advice given here on VLS is assuming that you are not renting anymore (e.g. you already own your house).

If you are still renting, have your own house should be your first priority. Everyone rational will be arriving at the same conclusion no brainer. I do not think anyone here will advise you otherwise and

Again certainly the rational assumption is that you buy the house on the right time with the right price, thus to avoid the situation that you are in negative equity.
