Lampshades in the DW
,
The photo books I did for the kids came on Friday, they are lovely, I think DS will be well pleased with his birthday pressie.
Who did you use? We've always used Jess*** who were excellent but are sadly defunct, and we're just looking around to see what else is on offer. I've found a few with vouchers and cashback but it would be nice to get recommendations.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
I generally use snapfish for photo printing. Mostly because I've uploaded all my pics to their site for backup, but they've always been quick to deliver and nice quality. It just so happened that I found a 50% off photo book code too, which also helped in the decision makingBossymoo

Well I'm back - shopping sorted - tooth not as they couldn't give me any anti-bs so I've got to wait until the dentist opens tomorrow. I'm hoping if I ring them they'll just issue a script which DH can pick up and then bring them to work to me. If I've got to faff around going to see the dentist it's not going to be worth it as they won't have kicked in before I go Tuesday night. Snowing again here but only very lightly. DS has a party this afternoon so I've got to go and sort the present out for that now and wrap it.NST #10 Steps 7K 2/30 10K 2/12 5 a day 3/30 NSD 0/20

Thanks, that's who I was considering as I just spotted the 50% off too. Annoyingly, OH and I were part way through a monster album as we were lucky enough to visit NZ last year, so now we've got to start again. I've got a smaller one on the go that I'll maybe do first as I stand more chance of finishing it while the offer is on.....of course if we get any snow days this week........
Snowing all morning in Herts; small flakes but they look determined! I went and helped OH with his horse and the village road was ok although the lane to the farm was pretty slippery. Horse and fieldmate happily cantering round and rolling in the snow when we arrived. I love watching them do that; 2 of the nicest photos I've got of my dear departed horse were of him in the snow.
Very pleased to have finished my latest batch of charity knitting which has taken forever as I'm not very good - it was part of a decluttering to get rid of odd bits of wool. Anyway I've just parcelled it up (3 pairs of admittedly very cute Mary-Jane style bootees). Next on the list - after lunch - is to tackle those tie-backs for the study curtains which have also been lurking.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Hello, lazy morning here. Breakfast made by DH, long soak in the bath. But I have also spent 20 mins in the gym and taken two of the dogs for a walk. Sick dog is not good at the moment.
About to get in gear though and hoover/sweep/mop through the house. Also need to wrap last fleabay parcel so its ready for posting when I next venture out.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Forgot to fill the coal bucket up! Just lit the fire, we had the heating on all day yesterday and that is not really sustainable so decided on fire today, lunch first and then I'll go round to the side shed and fill it up.

Brrr, been outside with the little ones. Pulled them around on the sledge, found a little hill (cue little moo squealing with delight as she slid down it
) then played snow shovels for a while and started a snowman.
Is DD too little to play out in the snow? She says "I like it" but she was going blue again. I've brought them in now, heating on, warm drink, and she's sat on the potty watching iceage. Defrosting. She is a normal colour though, now.
I want to let her have fun in the snow but don't want to make her poorly. I guess short bursts, just half an hour here and there, then back in to warm up again... I even made sure they had a warm dinner before going out. Hohum.Bossymoo

Bossymoo, she'll be fine with short bursts with her getting warm and dry in between. Keep is short if she is on the sledge rather than moving round. DS2 is 8 and he still does the same blue thing after 20 minutes. In bird news, we have had a Mistle Thrush visit this morning trying to get the last few berries which are hanging under the holly tree.

afternoon my flyfriends
Thank you for all you kind wishes and words of support and encouragement, would love to thank you all one by one, but running on a time budget which is tighter than I would like
Yes, sadly I am an Essex girl, .... born and raised in TOWIE town, for my sins married a boy from RYLAN town and took a one-way move to the behind end of God's waiting room on the Essex Coastal Backwaters for a "better quality of life" leaving the rest of family and friends behind 6 years ago.
Whilst kids settled, doing the paid stuff morning, noon and night I never had the time to develop a new friends network here, so I was like an island when EX left
I grew up in a house of permanent state of CHAOS, and had to do learn to do housework from what my Dad knew how to do, while he held down a job and tried to keep my Mum out of hospital. He was of the mindset education works you out of poverty, work keeps food on the table, and as long as there is a clean plate and a clean spoon to eat with food keeps from being ill and keeps you in work and school, and a clean shirt to go to work or school in keeps the cycle going, anything else is a bonus.:D:D
So compared to what I had to do when I was young, my kids even on the best flying days are layabouts.;)....my issue was always paid stuff/education first THEN if there was anything left do enough to fire-fight and get by, without ever putting any routines of MY OWN in place.
Unfortunately, this meant that I was viewed as a cash generating resource and *ahem* stable love interest by the in laws, but that I was "not good enough" to run and home and raise children, so would end up being pushed back into the paid stuff almost immediately after the babies were delivered (DD3 was 4 weeks old when I went back to work) because working at the paid stuff was all I was "good for"
22 years of that kind of stuff being force fed down your throat makes you believe it to be true. This thread has really helped the scales fall from my eyes, so trying to protect the only home I have ever been allowed to create has seen me get a little defensive
I have told the EX I am not being held to ransom on this issue and if she goes, she goes, even if I have to put DS into child minder to 6pm at night, money is money that I can work off at a later point in time.
Had major issue with food again last night, where I had asked for it to be cooked and although there was some stone cold food left for me, where I had been so exhausted no one woke me for nearly 4 hours, and when I did wake on my own my blood sugar had dropped so low that I could barely function let alone stand up and go down and retrieve any food and actually chew it, so I had to have my emergency sugar until I had recovered enough....it scared me to think that if I hadn't woken up then, I would have just been left
to go into a coma
anyway I am recovered enough to function today, and getting last bits ready to go in....DS is coming to hospital tonight to see me off with the EX.....damage limitation exercise, and take it from there
see you all on the other side :wave:The cold never bothered me anyway0
