Well, Him Indoors thought it was a good idea to have a bit of a change and I thought it was a good idea when I suggested it last year;) Even when I reminded him I can't lift anything due to a gammy shoulder, or support weighty bits of furniture he still thought it was a good idea. So I moved what I could and made sure bed frames didn't go through wardrobe doors. Whole process only took 3 hours. :rotfl:

Actually, quite a lot of the work was finding the clear 9th square to move stuff into. (You know, like one of those little games where you move the tiles to make the picture: 8 squares and a clear 9th square.) But it was significantly easier than the last time the furniture got moved as there is less stuff in the way. And that's due to hanging round here.:D So thanks, all!

And I thought this was brilliant: http://cheezburger.com/6971628032

We all had sleep! DD woke once, looking for her "baby" and DS not at all. Just went to pop the landing light on for them and its tripped the switch  this means I have to go in the cold garage and fight my way into the boiler cupboard to get to the switchboard.

This morning I shall be replacing light bulbs. My LR lights are really dusty, thinking I might unscrew the glass shades and put them in DW...

So laundry and lights day today. Hurrah.

    Morning All

Toothache's back so going to pop to the walk-in centre to see if they'll give me some anti-bs and then hopefully they'll still be able to take the tooth out Tuesday night.

Meal last night was nice - friends left about 10ish.

So plan for today is trip to walk-in centre then Mr As and that's about it I think.

    Have a good day all

Mumto5 - I was just looking at our bathroom floor the other day and thinking the same - and that bit behind the seat as i wiped it! Grrrr!Adult males!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Much the same with the TV - but it's sport + all the stuff DH watches on the obscure channels - Storage Wars that sort of thing! I do force DH to watch One Born... though... I had 3 C sections and he wasn't allowed in for 2 of them....

Juliejim - hope you get the toothache sorted....

DD2 very down yesterday - ex/bf issues + PMT ( getting worse) + Aunt flo arriving ( she really is struggling) - hope she is feeling better today. But she did manage to build a really good snowman with me - this one is called Maurice!

If DD2 is OK then I may go and see Quartet - yet again it's the last day it's on and in the worst cinema in york..

Helen Jelly, poor you with the flu; just rest and let DD take care of you. Hope DH's back is improving - you're both having a bad time of it at the moment aren't you (((Helen))) x

Bossy glad your cunning plan with the sleeping arrangements worked :T!

Skinty hope you have a reasonable day today and ex-MIL is behaving herself now - or if she's packed her bags that someone else can help you (((Skinty))) to you.

Mumto5 I don't have 3 adult males here but 1 and a 6 year old - normally they're not too bad but we do have misfires . Maybe they should be the ones to clear up after themselves.

Dusty you were brave going out on the ice; it's all really horrid and slippy now isn't it. I'm not venturing out anywhere; doesn't bother DH and apparently the new car has traction control but I'd rather not risk it at the moment.

Had a good night's sleep thanks to sleeping pills. Apparently DS wet his bed - first time for ages - but DH sorted him out :). Found it very hard to wake up this morning - took a Valium for the last time (hopefully) this morning as my mind is definitely more switched off and I hope that the anxiety will have calmed down when normality starts creeping in. DH and me off to GP on Weds to see how it's going. I can't help but think that all DH's clutter everywhere is adding to the anxiety and he simply won't let me help him sort it out. He admits he has a problem with it; maybe GP can suggest something to help him which will in turn help me.

Flying wise, going to do the ironing, clean kitchen sink, sort washing and make beds; we'll see what else happens. For now though think I'd better get dressed :)!

  • Good morning :D

The snow has finally arrived in the far side of Essex - much to DS's delight! :) He and DH will head out with the dog (who is also very excited as he loves the snow!) and the sledge.

1 load in WM, breakfast had, DS doing homework, DD2 (who is very quiet :() is revising. I am going to send DS accross the road soon to see if the ladies over their need anything (mother & daughter, aged, I think, around 60 - with health issues - & 80's - with broken arm!). Need to put some more bits on ebay as well. It is difficult to know how much to sell things for, as we don't want to over price (and not sell) but we do need to sell for a good price (need the money!). And until we actually sell something, we won't actually know how much it costs. We also have a DR full of record boxes, which will need to be moved before I start work tomorrow.

Roast chicken dinner later. Washing to be done. And more paperwork (accounts). That just about sums up my day!

Things are settling down a bit here, seems almost normal sometimes! (whatever that is :p) Still a long way to go, but we are on the journey :)

thinking of you Skinty. I hope everythings ok x

Hmmm. Odd. So I tripped the switch upstairs this morning, and just now I was turning over the chicken in the casserole dish, and accidentally clunked the cooker edge with the ceramic handle of the dish. Cue small flash of blue light and all the sockets went off!

So have fought my way into the boiler cupboard again, hoping it was reversible! Just as well I followed the winter prep thread, and I know where the torches are...

Anyway. We are back in business. It won't be half-cooked chicken stew for dinner and the kiddies can watch the rest of peppa pig.

Any more electrical mishaps today? Hope not. It's snowing again here...

    Morning all

Very lazy day here, I've been in bed reading and drinking tea, DS3 joined for a while, then DS2 went and made more tea and joined us, DS3 went and got the coconut rings - happpy days. Been snowing here steadily since before I woke up and the cleared path and driveways and completely covered again it is settling so fast.

Watered and fed the birds, DS3 had done the mogs. Emptied DW put maidens away.

Going to do a HHC hoovering and mopping downstairs and put the WM on then shower and lunchtime, have loads of milk and eggs so may offer pancakes.

JJ hope you get your tooth sorted out

    Bonnie get well vibes

    Bossy safe electrics vibes
