  • Thanks for that Ringo.

On the MSE link it is £17.50 for 24 months with Talk Talk whic equates to £420.

On the Mobiles.co.uk site which is £26 per month which equates to £624 and £524 with the cash back offer so £17.50 still seems to be the best deal for the Mini.

All depends on how much you want to use the phone - which is why i don't like using the '2 year total price' value. I have the 'big' S3 on the O2 unlimited plan - and I use it a heck of a lot. I also know that O2 are bringing in a 'signal boosting' app that will let you use your wifi as phone signal. Top it off, i know O2 customer services is pretty good.

So, you pay your money, you take your choice

edit: I presume the £17.50 pm price is after you've included 6 months 1/2 price redemption? There's always the option of the £26 O2 deal with a 8 months free (taking the effective price to £17.33 a month)

300 Texts per month and 100 call minutes per month would be enough. My existing phone cannot access the Internet so anything above that is a benefit.

I'm not sure what the £17.33 deal equates to?
  • ok.. was being nice, so i looked on the carphone warehouse website for you...

Orange do a 200 mins, unlimited texts, NO DATA .. but £15.50 a month
    http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/buy/SAMSUNG_GALAXY_S_3_MINI_CA15T_FCON

If 100 mins are ok for you, you can get the same price with 100mb of data

    http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/buy/SAMSUNG_GALAXY_S_3_MINI_DO15T_FCON

£372 total cost for 2 years - you could also get £35 of quidco cashback too
  • It is really a S3 i would love if i can find it at the right price !

The S3 mini does seem a good compromise however , is the S3 mini a better phone than the Galaxy Ace ?

    Depends what you mean better?
Price wise no, but technically the S3 mini has higher spec hardware.
  • That deal from Orange for the Mini is quite good. What does 100mb of online use actually mean, this is quite new to me.

It's dangerously low allowance if you don't keep your eye on your usage and don't take care of minimising it when not on wifi. When offering such allowance Orange to hope that you don't take care.

It's a good point, and probably is their intention. What is my best option?

Well, nothing stops you from getting the phone from CPW on Orange contract, but then using it on Ovivo with free 100+100+400 every month without topups.

However, you can buy S3 mini sim-free cheaper than for £372-£35. And generally, S3 miny is not the best value for money because you pay extra for 'S3' in the name, not for the specs.
