    I certainly am.

    "Important notes

    (1) For savings income there is a 10% starting rate tax band of £2,710 above the personal allowance. However if your non-savings income is above this limit then the 10% starting rate for savings will not apply.

    (2) For all ages, the personal allowance reduces where the income is above £100,000 - by £1 for every £2 of income above the £100,000 limit. From £116,210 the personal allowance is zero.

    (3) For those over 65, the personal allowance reduces where the income is above £25,400 - by £1 for every £2 of income above this limit. This will not fall below the basic personal allowance of £8,105 until income exceeds £100,000 as per 2."

Alternatively, put a £150k salary into listentotaxman.com and see what happens.

  • I don't know why you are arguing over Tax Credits. They never were meant to help children from poor families, but were invented to be a vote winner for Labour. Blair even called Tax Credits "a vote winner". Blair rejected the plans to get children out of poverty, from his Minister of Welfare Reform Frank Field, in favour of Brown's "vote winner" benefit Tax Credits.

You give a lot of extra money and other freebies to those that were too lazy at school to study to get good As' in subjects that employers want; or too lazy to learn a good trade; and tell them that they don't have to work to keep their chilldren as welfare will give them lots of money; and the more children they have, the more Tax Credits they will get. They vote Labour and breed more Labour voters. Then open the immigration doors wide to attract more Labour voters and borrow like hell to pay for the welfare bill.

Apart from the occasional "why should I lose me tax credits when me boyfriend moves in as he isn't the father of me children" complaint, it was all going well; until some Labour voters woke up and moved their vote; and then the money ran out.
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.
