Our son will not be put into debt, he can pay for his fees himself.
The income definition is just not that simple, I wish it was.0 -
The OP is either a troll or a moron.
First of all they need a question answered and the next they are quoting case law0 -
For goodness sake, just fill in the bloody forms, put down what hubby sends you each month, they will ask for bank statements, and see what happens.
Ps don't try and send them just one bank statement if you have more than one account as they can and do check, and yes it's perfectly legal for them to rifle through your accounts without your permission.0 -

I asked what I acknowledged was a simple question that may have a complex answer.....and the abuse followed....all I did was defend myself.
Morality is for individuals themselves to determine and not impose on others whatever their view.
The troll references, scrounges references etc. where pointless and lacked any credibility.
I follow the law to the letter and believe all should pay what is due and receive what is due.
The rights and wrongs aside-you do not come across well.
I cannot believe that any sane person would ask such a question on a benefits forum.
*If* this is real, go and get some professional advice-anyone could tell you anything here. What would you do if HMRC caught up with you later and had declared incorrectly

As the comments have now fallen into utter nonsense, I will leave you all to share what little you know and other assorted misinformation.0

Who is being greedy the governement with 50%+ of peoples income or professional families who take risks, innovate and employ others?
I thought the 50% tax rate was only applicable to income over x amount, therefore your husband would not be giving up 50% of his earnings, just 50% of that which exceeeded a certain amount??Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.0 -

It is you are right, it is only 50% on earnings over 150k.
I do not think this is relevant to the OP though as ALL earnings are taxed at 50% in cloud cuckoo land0 -

What is the obsession with the thanks button?
The OP has said thank you in a couple of posts now - why so insistent on pressing a button?Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I dunno, I must be missing something here...so far the Op has been called morally wrong, a scrounger,a troll and a moron and that how another poster implied her husband might find another 'newer model in the land of plenty'.
No disrespect to the other posters but I don't think any of these awful comments are worthy of a 'thanks'!
That's just my two penneth worth....0 -

It's the law, the framework, the legislation and regulators that should be followed and we do
More like you are working things to suit yourself, when you go abroad because of tax changes and you dont want to pay it but it now suits you to come back to the uk without the one earning the money anfd claim anything you can get. Dont forget this is some of my money you are trying to claim and I want what I pay via any taxes to go to the vunerable and not for someone who has enough to live off and not worry about the next meal on the table.
You should be ashamed of yourself.Look after the pennys and the pounds will look after themselves:money:0
