Husband an Expat overseas

Exactly, the 50% would have been charged to over 80% of my husbands income and no tax free pay! its a completely unjust amount for any individual to pay, hence our departure.0

Of course we work for our family and ourselves, I am sure that is our primary responsibility!0

So your husband is a professional earning over 750k a year, but your asking on an internet forum questions that his accountant could answer lol
Tell us another0 -

No disrespect to the other posters but I don't think any of these awful comments are worthy of a 'thanks'!
That's just my two penneth worth....
I don't think those comments are worthy of a thanks, either, but the poster I quoted wanted the OP to thank their posts, specifically, and I wondered why they had made several comments to this when the OP had made posts saying thank you rather than pressing the button.Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.0 -

Any sensible, level headed contributor would question why your post would merit being thanked twice......
Well done for adding so much to the debate...;)0 -
You need a calculator not an accountant. And I need a tax advisor and not an accountant!0

Use as many exclamation marks as you like, if you think an accountant does not advise on tax then your not only a troll but a complete idiot
My calculations are correct, but as a professional person yourself surely you could have worked that out, tut tut tut0 -

So his earnings are closer to a million then (if £150k is less than 20% of his income).
If that is true (and I seriously doubt it) then its clear that money buys neither taste nor morality.
If he wanted to reduce his tax liability he could have given a nice wedge each year to charity.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

Either the OP is posting to get a reaction, troll
Or they have come on to a forum to ask about claiming benefits even though they are in a relationship and end their children to private schools costing tens of thousands of pounds and her husband is earning over 750k, moron
Why two people thanked my post I do not know, why not ask them0 -

If 50% is paid on income over £150k, and your husband would have had to pay the 50% tax rate on 80% of his income, that leaves 20% of income where he is not paying that high level of tax [the £150k].
If £150K is 20% of wages, that means 100% would equal £750k per year.Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help.
