any of these work for corfu?
i cannt see a map on navfree with it ?
I have used TomTom in Corfu with a Greece map and its hilarious, some of the roads in the hills have been abandoned and have now become impassable but TomTom likes to send you up them to try. Its often a long way to backtrack and go another way.
Last August there I was following a lovely new tarmac road up into the hills that suddenly stopped! - run out of money I suppose, pressed on for a while over the rock track but the rental Hyundai I30 was taking a pounding bless it! turned back but had to stop and change a punctured tyre on the way down. Glad I took out the extra waiver insurance though.0 -
I'm downloading Waze. I'll give it a go.0

We used TomTom in Madeira last year and ended up just enjoying the many stupid turns and directions it offered us.
Then last month we were in Mallorca and once again there were some stupid directions down impossible roads.0 -
Been using it for about 6 months now. Have not yet found how to add a waypoint, to force it to avoid somewhere I know from experience is a bad area.
Went to Birmingham last week, and Navfree got in a tangle when I got diverted: the little arrow of direction was pointing the wrong way! And it doesn't always count the right number of exits on a roundabout.
But it's free, the latest version allows postcodes (I seem to recall that previously it was streetname only), it's got voice directions, it avoids mobile data usage and it's pretty good for localising once you get near the destination, or escaping once you've been there.0 -
Have been using this in the UK for 6months and have not found a problem, also downloaded the Australian version and used it successful in WA.
Went to Tenerife and used the Spanish version with no problems.
Great cheap app highly recommended .

Navfree, as recommended in your latest MMT does not appear to be available for my HTC Desire C Android phone in the UK. The only map that I can find for it is for the USA! However it does appear to be available for the UK on iPhone.
I know it is not a GPS Navigator but 'Maps With Me' is brilliant and works well for me. It lets you know where you are anywhere in the world and I do mean THE WORLD. It has downloadable maps for just about every country imaginable. The maps are also being constantly updated and in my view are clearer than Google's.0 -
Do these satnav systems have voice output? I don't fancy changing specs while driving so I can look at arrows on a screen.0

m8 is a good satnav substitute with voice directions as well. It's free too .DFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499

If you download the Google Maps that cover your route that becomes a non issue :-)
So I downloaded a large square of google maps data about 100km each side of the city, and it is now fine out and about.
I wouldn't want to cover a whole country (though you could probably get away with it in the UK) but it works so well for 99% of my sat nav needs I never bother getting the tom tom out of the arm rest.0
