Anyone happy with Sky broadband unlimited?

I had real problems trying to have BT Infinity installed it was a nightmare. Cancelled and went to Sky. Very good service no hassle installation. You can pay line rental in advance. BT line rental is as expensive. Still trying to get money back from BT.
Give Sky a go 12months soon goes.0 -
Odd as it would be the same BT OR engineers who would install both. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Yes it would be .....but if the order isn't processed properly then maybe the problem was before the point of making an appointment for the engineer.
It baffles me when customers tell me they get a higher speed when they move to Sky from a BT connection but I hear it a lot. Can only put it down to poor technical support with speed issues from BT.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
Thanks very much for all the helpful replies, think [STRIKE]I'll be [/STRIKE] I WON'T be changing to Sky then!
EDIT: Funnily enough, Sky phoned me today to ask if I was happy with my current package and if I wanted to make any changes to it. I'd been planning to get rid of Sports and Movies so asked for them to be cancelled due to the cost. The call centre operative totally ignored what I'd said and proceeded to try and sell me other products instead.
Because the caller had totally ignored me, I said I didn't want anything else, only to cancel the Sports/Movies. She refused to do it and said she couldn't transfer me to anyone who could help. I asked to speak to a supervisor, she refused and put the phone down on me.
I won't be getting broadband with them now if this is an example of their "customer service". If it wasn't for the fact that I enjoy watching Sky 1 and Sky Atlantic I would leave them altogether.0 -

The simple answer is Sky will only support their own modem/router.
If you already have a wifi access point (e.g. Apple Time Capsule) you can connect that to a Sky modem/router and turn off the Sky wifi.
If you do a search in Google for the unofficial Sky forum you will find details of how people have used non-Sky modem/routers. Not simple for most people though.0 -

I currently use a tp link router with orange BB. the tp link has been far superior as it broadcasts the wifi much further then previous routers. it came with settings for different isp's, maybe it could handle sky. i'd really like to keep it if i switched to skySwagbucks since July 2012 - £300 Paypal, £330 Amazon

I can tell you it wont support Sky as you will not have the username and password information required. Its built into the Sky hubs firmware.I currently use a tp link router with orange BB. the tp link has been far superior as it broadcasts the wifi much further then previous routers. it came with settings for different isp's, maybe it could handle sky. i'd really like to keep it if i switched to skyThat gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
