Anyone happy with Sky broadband unlimited?

I'm currently with BT for calls and Zen for Internet, who I've been very happy with. I don't make many landline phone calls and we don't do any online gaming, just general browsing and iPlayer etc.
I am a Sky TV customer and have just been offered Sky Unlimited broadband free for 12 months, on a 12 month contract. It seems like a no-brainer to change to Sky, but a lot of people on here seem to be wanting to leave them! Is Sky broadband any good and is there anyone who is happy with their service?

I'm on Sky and think they've been absolutely great. I recently considered leaving because my old router is on the way out and they wanted £39 to replace it. I've since bought their N router on Ebay for less than a tenner which has improved things somewhat.
Going to test it out over the weekend, if things go well I'll cancel my Talk Talk Phone and Broadband order.
I've been very happy with them for 3 years though.0 -
Everybody loves Sky LLU broadband Unlimited, or was that Parking Pateweyo?
Had the odd problem with the service over the years, all caused by dodgy joins in BT street furniture. Sometimes it takes a while to get customer service to get BT OR on the job to fix them as they have to pay BT and don't want too many wild geese chases.
I've had a look at my account and have now been with Sky BB for 6 years, first few years CS was awful, last couple of years vastly improved. I took out Sky talk 18 months ago with no problems. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Full Sky package here, recently got onto unlimited but the lines are still with BT, for historic reasons we have one for telephony & one for BB (was the old dial up line).
I would transfer them but Sky can only cope with one line into a property!
Similarly on TV upgrade to HD, no fuss installed when originally booked, got CS to discontinue multi-room, no fuss, no problems, I was even told that if I kept the gear & card it would operate as Freesky!0 -
I had the same deal as a current Sky TV customer. The telephone line and BB will be activated on January 21st. Sky hub is on the way, and Sky will handle the transfer and get the MAC code from Plusnet directly. The whole process is smooth and efficient. Don't forget to switch through Topcashback or Quidco. I have £80 tracked on my Quidco account. You can pay the whole year line rental now, and it will save you another 50 quids. If the cashback is actually paid, then it will only cost me £14.50X12-£80-£50=£40 for the first year, which can't be a bad deal.0

Most of the people leaving Sky on here at present blame the line rental hikes. The LLU service remains good.No free lunch, and no free laptop

I'm happy on Sky LLU, I went from 7 MPS to 20 MPS for a fraction of the price and it has been very stable.0

I love it had a couple of problems but Sky have helped sorting it out and they have been quick too.
I wouldn't swap it for the world

Can I ask why you moved from Plusnet to Sky?
I was with Plusnet and was happy with them, but I also got an offer of free line rental, E&W calls and BB for 12 months on LLU so it was a no brainer.
I have been happy with Sky for the 11 months I have been with them. When I have reported speed problems they have worked to resolve it rather than just say it was down to the line quality and distance from exchange as other ISP's have done.
They sent out a BT engineer when I was getting lower speeds in the test socket than I was in the master socket. The socket was replaced FOC.
No complaints, but whether I stay with them depends on what they offer when the 12 months is up.0 -
I can't say I'm happy about the line rental hikes at £14.50 a month.
Service is fine though I've had it since 2007 and I've no complaints. Just had to buy a new router £39 as old one was dying. £10 pcm @ 13mb speed.
Avoid Sky Connect like the plague...Blessed are the geeks, for they shall inherit the Internet.0 -
Very happy with Sky Broadband Unlimited LLU. My speed has gone up by 3meg on the same line from what I was getting with O2 (and Bulldog prior to that) after I called Sky to remove the 'cap'.
No throttling or anything which is brilliant so P2P stuff works at full speed, and direct downloads from the US always max out my connection, so there's no contention to speak of.
