You can contact the Office of the Public Guardian on 0300 456 0300, they will only be interested in money spent since the Lasting Power of Attorney was registered but you can make a complaint and they may well launch an investigation. Please bear in mind that both attorneys (your aunts) will be equally liable even if the other one has not acted dishonestly.0

I think there is some confusion. If your nana only had her pension then that would have been used to pay her care home fees, except for around £20 a week she could use to pay for toiletries, hairdressing, clothes etc.my nana never had any savings or anything and no home to sell the only money she had was her pension which should have mounted upto the 31k! x x.................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -
I thought that Social Services took all pension income apart from approx £23 per week spending money for the person in care. It could be an occupational pension that your aunt has not declared.0

so she has stolen the money from the home?! my mam thought they should have paid home more, it was only £400 odd quid a month in fees to social services, so social services will persue her, but when i rang they said she was entitled to it as she wasnt privatly funded in care home. do you think she didnt declare the money to social services, the money came from weekly... DWP and that included DLA and pension. so confusing?! sounds promising if she stole from social services as they wont let it drop... x0

OH MY GOD THAT MAKES SENSE!!! as when we rang social they said that she paid the right ammount and it was all upto date! but she obviously never said how much she was getting!!!!! so it is benefit fraud!!??? and the DWP said her figures were correct, but obviously that should have been paid to care home!0

I have to agree. If your nan only had her pension, then that would have been taken for her care home fees. Carol? Where is the 50k you say she should have had, coming from? How do you get to this figure?0

Obviously ............. the correct weekly amount would have been paid to the care home. As nana appears to have had only her state pension which would have gone some way to paying the weekly fee, what other money was there that the aunt could have stolen?.................

ok so nanas money.
£300 pw x 52 weeks = £15600 x 3.5 year = £54600.
-£400 per month auntie anne was paying to home =£4600 per year = £16100
so £54600 she got all together from being in home minus £16100 for fees and lets say another £1000 for hairdressing etc = £37500!
so am i now right in thinking all of that money should have gone to care home and left 320 per week for toiletries hairdressing etc??0
