    Hi,

You're almost certainly due compensation of €600 each.

The first sep is to claim EU261 compensation from KLM via their website and see how that goes.

You never know, they may just pay up without any quibbles.

    Good luck.

    Hey guys,

I was flying from BCN to CDG and then from CDG to ABZ. The flight from BCN to CDG reached 16 mins late and my connecting flight was supposed to take off 45 minutes after my BCN flight landed in CDG(so barely enough time). I obviously didn't make it in time for the CDG-ABZ flight and when rebooking was over, I arrived in Aberdeen 5+ hours later than my original intended arrival time.

I emailed AF and they claimed that, "your flight AF1349 was disrupted due to restriction put forward by Air Traffic Control (ATC)" and that I won't get anything.

I tried emailing BCN airport for the reason of the delay at BCN but they wouldn't tell me and said I have to ask AF themselves, so there is no way I can verify AF's ATC claim.

What should I do next? Should I ask AF for proof?

    Thanks

45 mins is a tight connection at the best of times at CDG and I'm surprised AF offered as a flight option?

Yup, it was offered there but I assumed since it was offered, it was doable.

Sounds like they are just trying it on.

I assume connecting AF flight on one booking.

Queuing for your take off or landing slot at a busy airport is completely normal. That is not a valid reason to refuse your claim.

Don’t email them, put in a claim via their website and await an official reply to that. If it’s still negative look into an ADR referral as your next move.

    Good luck.

Agreed. If they offer that tight connection, they must take the consequences. As Tyzap says, a small delay such as this is inherent in the running of an airline ( and are they telling you the trutthful reason?)

Yup, this was all one booking. Also, the email I received from them was through the online form that I submitted for compensation, I didn't just email their customer services.

How exactly would I go about doing it with the ADR?

    Hi again,

You can refer to AviationADR, who are a bit slow, but they are free and easier than using MCOL. You need to have reached deadlock with AF first tho, so maybe email them once more to ask if that is their final position as you require AviationADR to adjudicate on your behalf.

    https://www.aviationadr.org.uk/

    Good luck.

Thanks for the link, should I mention to AF that I will be proceeding with AviationADR or should I only ask them for their final position?
