Apalling!!!!! And others elsewhere think it's a good idea to fly with this airline.

Agreed Richard, but I don't think others fly with Jet2 out of choice but merely out of necessity. They buy other airlines castoff planes, the oldest fleet in the industry, they provide no customer service, they refuse to accept their legal duties of care, they are not the cheapest in the industry and they are a disgrace to Yorkshire.

Why would anyone choose to fly with them?

  • Had reply from jet 2 - we believe any claim started under ec regulations 261/2004 .... Is now time barred ... More specifically you entered into a contract which expressly incorporated terms and conditions.

It goes on to state in support of our view that this matter is time barred we refer you to matter of clips sold vs Ryan air and Packard v Ryan air. Blah blah

However on investigation we conclude that the delay to your flight was the result of extraordinary circumstances irrespective of the time barring.

In accordance with regulation 16 of regulation 261, the national enforcement body that is responsible for the rights of passengers on flights from Spain to agenicwnestal de segura dad. According to the official list of extr circumstances ... A technical deft like the one which caused the delay in this instance an extraordinary circumstance and there fore not payable.

    The lflight was in 2012.

Any ideas on a response etc?

d-i-d - bear in mind Jet2 are DESPERATE having backed themselves into a corner and as a result will tell you anything to avoid paying what you are likely due.
Response? If you're up to the legal challenge (which is what it will take with Jet2) then read Vauban's guide, several times over, issue an NBA then when they either ignore that or refuse payout then issue legal paperwork via Small Claims.
Or employ the services of a NWNF. They will have the advantage to lete you know if indeed you do have a valid claim.
