My Ryanair flights are always on time - can I get an upgrade?

Mine were always on time too, I use them (and still do) twice a month.

Then it snowed. I genuinely think Ryanair have one de-icer which they drive round the country on rotation and if your lucky enough to have it at your airport that day, you'll be flying. Otherwise you'll definitely be going nowhere.

  • i flew with ryanair to barcelona from london stanstead.... the flight was ready to board so we proceeded to the boarding gates.. the flight boarded and once we all were sitting down (ready to fly) we were told by the captain that we were in the que to de-ice and we would be delayed by 45 mins.. 1 and half hours later there was no news and the captain told us that... like this about 3 hours passed and no sign of de-icer.. but we had to refuel instead coz of running air conditioning eating up the fuel... we asked for some free drinks as now we were thirsty and hungry but were told by the crew that the only ppl who can issue free food vouchers are the airport authority n for that we had to be delayed in the airport.. as we were on the plane we had to BUY our own food and drinks !!!like this about 4 and half hours passed and we were then told we are taking off and we did... okay the weather was bad but not that bad and it wasnt snowing that morning.. now do i have a claim for this or ryanair would use extreme weather conditions and throw my appeal out of the window??
  • Well, had a response to my 2nd letter this morning, they'd originally said as the flight concerned was 2.5 years ago it was outside the claim time limits, I wrote back saying no it wasn't, so now they've replied saying (generalisation) "oh yes silly us, just provide your historic booking reference as without that we can't investigate any further". Unfortunately Ryan Air booking history only shows last 2 flights, even if I put in the oldest booking ref from last June it brings back flights for June and Sept 2012 only. I don't have my booking details from June 2010 so the only way I might get them is if I pay for my credit card companies to send me statements from roughly the time I made the booking, could have been 1 of 3 card companies, so am going to have to get 3 months statements from each company to prove this booking ref no. It's annoying as they must be required by law to retain the flight manifest for a certain no. of years I'd have thought, they know the flight no, date, time & the delay factor but are saying they are not able to find our booking themselves... anyone else had this scenario...?
  • Advice needed please!

I wish to claim compensation for a flight back in 2011 that was cancelled 5 hours after departure time and next flight offered was 4 days later. I couldnt take this flight as myself and partner were tied to holiday dates with work. Only problem is I cant find my flight number or reservation number? Is there anyway I can find out or will I need them to claim? I did email Ryanair but I cant see them being too helpful.

    Thank you.
  • You can go on here I think all you need is the dates of your flight and the departure & destination airports .. that's how you find your flight no and the confirmation of the delay stats. YOu need to create a profile for it... I think this is how I got our flight no for 2010.. seemed quite straightforward when I used it anyway.

Saturday 6th September 2008? We were on the outbound waiting for your plane to land. According to flightstats we took off on time and landed 22 minutes late. Good old Ryanair. Glad I didn't imagine that 9 hours of entertaining a baby and a toddler.....

    Go get 'em.
