After 2 months of to-ing and fro-ing with BA's Customer Relations and them offering me €100 which I refused I think its time for legal action. Ive sent them a LBA so unless they sort things Im taking them to court

Success!!!
I sent the template letter by post to BA on the 5th of November re: delayed flight from Atlanta to Heathrow in july2010,myself and 2 children.
On News Years Day i received an email from BA,apologising for the delay and saying i was entitled to compensation 3 x 600euro (£1471)....and if i could send my bank details,as it would be the fastest way to forward the money to me.
Today i received the full amount into my bank account.
Thank you to everyone on the forum who had the patience to help this newbie!!
I seem to have been lucky in that just one letter did the trick....to others id just say, keep plugging away!!!0 -

re my earlier post. after so much to-ing and fro-ing with customer relations, getting nowhere, and not being able to face battling the call centre, I took to twitter. firstly I tweeted onto BA's public feed to ask why they have had my bank details for so long with no payment. it may have been a coincidence, but 3 hours later the money went into the bank. I then tweeted again regarding a further claim, about which I had heard nothing, not even a claim reference number. they tweeted back, 3 hours later to invite me to send a direct message with all the details. they followed me to allow me to do this. the next day I received a message back asking for my phone number and they would call. they did - the same day. the young lady on the end of the phone explained why the delay (mainly because they were awaiting some information which they had in fact already had!). they had supposedly emailed me but this had not got through to me. she said the payment would be arranged straight away, and would be in the bank by early next week. I then received another twitter message to say if the money wasn't in, to message them again. So - folks, forget the cumbersome and slow internal e-mail messaging system. Take to twitter!! they are slow, and if you don't harass them they just sit on it.0

3 of us on a flight to Faro (June '14) delayed by 4.5 hrs due to technical fault with plane. On return used the MSE website advice and claimed for compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004.
Heard absolutely nothing for 6 months - so long I'd forgotten about the claim.
Got home last night to find cheque from Thompson for £950 on the door mat (euro 400 x 3). Happy dayz! :T :rotfl:0 -
nice, but should have been on the Thomson thread rather than BA0

morning People,
Hoping someone can point me in the right direction or at least advise me.
My 6.20pm flight (BA0323) on Saturday 10 Jan, from Paris CDG to LHR was cancelled at 12.30pm. At the time no reason was given, but got emails re-book us for Sunday's flight at 2.45pm and were given hotels.
I wrote to BA claiming compensation for flight delay, and this is an extract from the response:"In your email you also requested compensation under EU legislation which has been refused because your flight BA0323 on 10 January 2015 was cancelled adverse weather conditions which prevented the aircraft operating as scheduled. Under EU legislation, British Airways is not liable for a compensation payment in this situation.
Unfortunately airline operations are subject to circumstances outside the airline's control. British Airways takes all reasonable measures to avoid cancelling a flight in such circumstances. Consideration is given to whether there are any operational options available before a decision to cancel is made. We are sorry that the cancellation was necessary in this case."
I understand most airlines would hide behind extraordinary circumstances, therefore how can I tell if that is a true reason? is there anywhere to check?
Also what step should I take next?0 -
So your flight at 6.20 pm (18:20) was cancelled at 12.30 on Friday?
You will have to go on to something like flightstats (register for free) and look at what else was cancelled at CDG or LHR.
There were severe winds on Saturday morning that affected some flights. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
