You are correct as you cannot fit more than 2 names in the claimants' box.
I'm really confused on this point. I am claiming for myself, husband, and two children. I contacted MCOL prior to filling in claim and was told as it was all one booking I could act on behalf of the four of us, stating myself as claimant and naming the other three in my particulars of claim and that I was claiming a total of 4 x compensation. I've not heard anything back from them, but airline have mentioned in their defence I can't do this. Who is right? And where does it say what you can and can't do, cos I can't find it in the guidelines!

My understanding is, is that you can't use MCOL, simply because of the limits on how many words you can put in using the on line form.
So, you have to use the paper version instead, which I think is under the Title of N1 on the court website.
  • First, thanks centipede100 for not pointing out the answer to my last question was only a post or two back...:embarasse

Now, with my dunce hat back on my head I have another question (or three) which I'm sure has already been answered...

Should I be adding interest to my claim, and if so how much?

If I can demonstrate that I have lost a full days pay in excess of £90 by attending court can I add this to my claim or am I limited to the £90 limit?

Have at look at the start of the "Taking the airlines to court" thread - there are some useful links to official guides that explain how to work out interest and suchlike.

But you don't have any other option that to enter a multiple claim(ents) case, as the children cannot claim themselves?

Exactly! That's why I put my two childrens' claims in the one for me and my husband! I had enough room in the 'particulars of claim' to state their names, what I was claiming per person, the total amount and why I disagreed with the claim of EC. It's with the local court now, so I guess I'll have to see what they say about it. As there are a few people querying this on various threads, it's clear that there is no definitive guidance available.....

You should serve on local court but in addition you should also serve this > http://hmctsformfinder.justice.gov.uk/courtfinder/forms/n215-eng.pdf

    Hi
Check my recent posts. You definitely cant use MCOL. You need to download and fill in the N1 and N235 for each child and then send x 2 copies of each form with the £120 to County Court Money Claims Centre in Salford.

Yet again another standard reply from Thomsons, can't claim 2 year limit etc etc. I have today completed form for CAA and downloaded form from NEB, however, not sure if this has to go to airline or where? any help appreciated. Just to really get on Thomson's nerves I have also emailed my complaint to the legal department. See what they come back with. I really do not understand why they keep spouting the 2 year limit, is it purely because they are hoping people will give up??

Forget writing to the CAA - forget emailing Thomson.

Send a letter, recorded delivery. See my post numbered 2657, and also 2626, 2637 and 2636
