    I recently suffered a 24hr delay when departing for holiday with Thomson air. Having submitted a compensation claim they have now told me that this is not something they would compensate for and advised me to claim on my travel insurance! Is this correct, surely not?

    No it is not correct. Have a read of the FAQs on page one, and if you have specific questions not covered there, ask away!

    Not had fully reply but was told over 'phone, no comp as they don't cover that. 24hr delay that was dealt with very poorly and very reluctant to let it go.

    Sounds like you spoke to the wrong person or department! Ignore that conversation - read page one FULLY of this thread , and then, using the template provided, put your complaint/claim in writing to

    Wigmore House

    asking for a reply/acknowledgement within 14 days

    Yes, there are 2600+ posts on this thread, but you'll get the gist of the procedures and pitfalls by reading the last 20 or so pages on here too :cool: You'll need to do your homework, there's plenty of advice on here, and help available too if you're stuck on a certain area.

    I have submitted a claim using template on here, no reply after almost five weeks, phoned them to enquire and was told no comp. Trying to establish next best move.

    Sounds like it'll be an EC technical fault, hence the "no comp" response (did they say that at all?) unless there are other reasons for the excessive delay.............but as fellow poster, 111KAB suggests above, that's your next step, (best option!!) as long as you first put a letter to them saying "14 days before Court Action" and send your letter Recorded Delivery (£1.70) - it'll probably be signed for Thomsons by Sheila Smith! - all mine were!
