:I received a letter from the court that TC have until the 20th July to repy. My problem is that it states 'Nottingham' and I am in 'Belfast'[/QUOTE
]
:j Cheque received this morning:j 3 days before my 6 year deadline
:TPaid into bank too:T
After my MCOL I received an e-mail from TC asking for all the details I sent in November 2012 so I rang and told them and they said they would pay out but asked for copies of all the tickets again which I sent recorded delivery on Thursday 25-07-13 received by them 26th on 30th I rang and she was able to give me the amount they would pay out. The Euro was only worth .67p in August 2007, also they wouldn't pay interest only £40 (2% since October 2012) but better in my pocket plus the £100 court fee. I am delighted it didn't take too long to receive cheque after 9 months of trying.
I am so pleased and thanks again to everyone on this Forum that was able to help with all their advice.:rotfl:0 -
Hey does anyone know if it matters who takes Thomas Cook to court? My other half was the one to book everything but I've done all the research and typed all the correspondence and put OH's name on them. It would make more sense for me to do it bc I have time whereas OH doesn't.
Anyone?0 -
Hi all,
The reason for my delay has now been given to me by Thomas Cook as
The delay to your flight was caused by anoperational change due to an airport closure. This caused a knock on effectwith flights causing the delay
So would this be considered EC then? I've already started with CAA but they've said they will take 8 weeks to reply. Was going to start court action but this reason (assuming it's true) does seem outwith TCs control. Although at the time we were told it was because the flight had 'broken down at its previous destination'.
What do you think?
Thanks0 -

I got written permission off my party and the lead passenger which was my father to run with it and they accepted this.0 -
Afternoon All,
Sent in my complaint to Thomas Cook last week re an 8 hour delay in 2009 from Manchester to Dalaman. Requested an update the other day and was told the delay was their fault and a full voucher had been dispatched on Friday, so far so good!
No voucher in hand as yet, but what's the quickest and most reliable way of exchanging for cash? e-mail to customer relations, social media or letter to Bradford, Peterborough, Manchester?
Thanks all, hope everyone has such easy experiences as I did!0 -

Fastest way would be to call. Quickest way to get money into your account would be by BACS. My OH calls from work so we don't rack up charges. Alternatively you can search saynoto8070 for a Thomas Cook Customer Services landline.0 -

I asked last week for a bank transfer but they told me they didn't do them so they sent a cheque which I received this morning and have banked.0 -

Don't rush into it, wait for the CAA to respond, but don't hold your breath for a passenger friendly response. Airport closure would be an ec, but knock on effects, shouldn't be, especially if closure was more than 24 hours ago. You need to know when, where and for how long the airport was closed, and I doubt very much if Thomas Crook will provide you with that information. You could go on flightstats and investigate what delays TC had before your scheduled flight.
Eight weeks for the CAA to respond? I wish! I've been waiting for seven months now! I complained to them this week about this, and today received an email advising me to be more patient!
As the CAA are basically the airlines' friend, I would really not encourage anyone to engage them but simply proceed to court.0
