Bless em (Monarch) they are trying to defend a flat tyre, my thoughts are you cannot polish a t**d.:rotfl:

I only hope the judge sees it a tells them to go away (politely) and stop wasting all our time and effort. Suppose I better start on my response.
Check out Vaubans Flight Delay Guide, you will be glad you did....:):):)

And if it actual gets in front of a Judge, make a point of their disgraceful excuses/ blatant misinformation.

Can you help me on this?

My parents flew on the ZB983 Funchal to Birmingham on 20/4/15 and were 4-5 hours late in arriving. Should have landed 14:25, but landed 19:something. They were given 6 Euro vouchers which, with airport food and drink prices, didn't touch the sides.

Dad submitted the claim later that week and they fitted the criteria. They had the acknowledgement letter from Monarch about 5 days later saying, they have received their claim, blarr de blarr...

My parents haven't heard anything from Monarch since. Dad chased them up twice. He didn't count the 2 BHs in May as the 28 days.

What can he do to get Monarch to actually look into their claim and communicate with them? Plus my parents were charged an extra £10 on the parking as when you book airport parking, you submit your flight details so they can allow a couple hours grace from landing on scheduled time to get off the plane, go through passport control and get your hold luggage.

Depends on the reason for the delay, if you have a valid claim or not.

Read Vaubans excellent guide, then re-post any questions you have after reading that.

    Good luck

Could you give me the direct link for Vaubans guide?

The reason of the delay was a technical one. The outbound flight ZB982 was delayed by 4.5 hours. http://planefinder.net/data/flight/ZB982 see 20/4/15. So the return flight - ZB983 the one my parents took was delayed. http://planefinder.net/data/flight/ZB983. They plane landed 19:10 UK time.

In many cases when people go on holiday, they return on the plane which sent out the holiday makers for the following week. So if you land at your holiday airport at, 6pm, your return flight leaves at 7:30pm. Just enough time to unload luggage, refuel, clean etc and load up luggage. So if the outward plane is delayed, it will have an knock on effect on the return flight. So doubling the passengers that are entitled to compensation!

ZB535 on the 26/8/12 Palma-Man has just paid out.

I hope it was a princely sum (see what I did there ;))
  • Hi

I have had a claim rejected by Monarch and have sent them an informal letter suggesting they make might make an alternative offer as per Vauban's guide but again they have declined.
Does anyone have any personal experience with No Win no Fee companies as I would be grateful for any recommendations.

    Thanks
