I've just called monarch again and managed to speak to someone who said he will email me later after looking into it but confirmed that the claim is still open but couldn't give me a reason why no one had responded to my attempts to contact them even though I have proof they were delivered from the auto reply emails they sent as receipt
I honestly feel like they are playing the game to avoid as many payouts as possible :-(
Swanlake If you haven't issued court proceedings then you will find Monarch will eventually tell you that you are out of time and therefore they will not pay out and there will be nothing you can do about it.If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -

In other news, the Pope declares Catholic tendencies, whilst there are reports of bears defecating in forested areas ...
I'm sorry Swan - but you have been sucker-punched real bad. Unless Monarch choose to pay you voluntarily, there is nothing you can do. Your claim is as live as a Norwegian Blue.0 -
Further to #4398, we have now received cheques for the Sterling equivalent of 400 Euros each for the following Monarch flight:
MON7918 Gatwick to Preveza,
scheduled to depart on 24 August 2014 at 06:35 and to arrive 12:00,
actual departure 25 August 2014, actual arrival 14:16.
Good luck to all those still pursuing claims, and many thanks to MSE and all those who have given so much time and effort to make this possible.

Seems Monarch are wet leasing again despite promises they would not entertain in the future. They are using a JetTime plane on the same route (Birmingham ~ Nice) as the Aurela plane they wet leased 3 years ago - some of you may recall the problems experienced by that relationship! Anyone had any experience of a delay claim against JetTime (Danish airline) as your imput may be required over the forthcoming months?

We were delayed 8 hours on a flight in December 2008. 2 years ago I started fighting Monarch.
They have tried every trick in the book!
They said it was caused by a "stiffness in the throttle lever" I argued that this was not an EC - on top of this the flight in was delayed by 5hours due to the same tech fault - so I argued this was not an EC but a knock on effect.
5 times they refused to budge.
I followed up and refused to let go of the fight.
I contacted the CAA and twice they lost all my details and I had to start again. Then when the CAA did finally get back to me it was to say that yes I was entitled to compensation but as the time was almost up they were closing the case and couldn't offer any further support the phrase 'as much use as a chocolate fireguard' springs to mind.
Then I had enough going on so decided to hand over to a NWNF company and contacted Bott & Co. They refused to handle the case because they couldn't find the flight!
So I contacted Puckwick Solicitors as I was aware that time was running out. They considerd all the information I already had and agreed to take the case on.
Again Monarch tried every trick in the book to argue their case - they even tried to say they did not recall flying that day
But I provided evidence.
So Pickwick solicitors issued court proceedings before time ran out in December.
Low and behold on monday they offerd to pay out - but offerd £300 less.
We stuck to our guns and said no - pay up!
They have finally agreed to pay the whole amount - so my advice is don't give up - ever - and if you are running out of time issue court proceedings.
It's not about the money after all this time - it's about the principle!
FINALLY received the funds today!0 -
Round 2! Just started legal with Monarch, let the fun and games begin!Check out Vaubans Flight Delay Guide, you will be glad you did....
