Monarch delays & Compensations. Listed flights denied in O.P.

I sent a chase up email to Monarch on the 3rd January (claim November 2012), and have just received the following response after 27 days:
Is this a sign that Monarch are starting to realise that they can not just ignore correspondence/emails and are turning over a new leaf?
They are committing to providing a response to the claim or an update within the next month, which is new.
My problem is that I still don't know whether they intend to provide compesation or not. I suppose if it is a choice between:
a) County Court (long delay);
b) hand over the claim to a 3rd party @ 30% of the claim (and long wait)
or
c) waiting a bit longer and getting 100% compensation
then (c) doesnt seem too bad.
you forgot
d) Waiting the month and getting the standard extraordinary circumstances response and therefore going back to A) or0 -
Interesting development
A report in today's Daily Mail of the first ruling by a judge in favour of compensation since the ECJ decision.0 -
Well, at least it's a start. I'd love to be able to find the case report and read it through, to see what the tech problem was/the airline's defence was.0

Monarch Hi Jacqueline, we cannot give you any more information until a decision has been made about your flight. Until such decision has been made Maria wouldn’t have any more information than you’ve already been told. The social media team are not involved with the investigation process and cannot hurry your claims along.
i DONT WANT THEM TO HURRY IT ALONG, JUST WANT IT DEALT WITH LOL....DESPITE MARIA CARLETON TELLING ME ONT HE 18/01/2013 SHE WOULD CHECK THE PROGRESS AND GET BACK TO ME...LOL NO SURPRISE THERE SHE HAS NOT AND NEITHER HAVE THEY... You are so right, LBD.
Monarch are so very much out of their depth it beggars belief. They are clearly pretending not to understand the implications of the EU law. But it's worse than that - they lack the competence and capacity to deal with the (predictable) volume of calls. I'm going to Court, and I suggest everyone forms a line!0 -
Today is an interesting day for me, as 12 days ago Monarch emailed me to say that I would receive a cheque through the post within 14 days.
So if it doesn't come today, then tomorrow is the last day before they have failed that deadline as well.
I'm sort of half wishing they do fail, as if I go to court I can get interest on the amount from back in October when the delay occurred. But don't want to wait 3 months for MCOL to sort it, - they would still need chasing after that as well.0 -
good luck mark, still havent heard of anyone else yet who has had a claim accepted from monarch, hopefully will be lots soon0
