Yes, as far as I can see, progress. Whatever the "charge" you paid for that seat, regs clearly sate you are eligible for compensation. What does your invoice show?
If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

    The alleged Ringleader.........
  • The invoice shows an infant charge of £35. The Monarch representative I spoke to insisted that they would not pay out for it and that I could contact the CAA.

I second the above, you paid a fee and your child received a reservation and a ticket :D

    The regulation states :

    3. This Regulation shall not apply to passengers travelling

free of charge or at a reduced fare not available directly or

indirectly to the public. However, it shall apply to passengers

having tickets issued under a frequent flyer programme or

other commercial programme by an air carrier or tour

    operator.

    From the CAA Website:
    Compensation for infants

The CAA view is that compensation is payable at the same rate as that of adults for infants on an infant fare.

Have you received compensation for the rest of your party?
You can try the CAA but probably a waste of paper/stamp/time.

  • Yes, the rest of the party have been paid, they just agreed and paid without a fight. It is only the infant part that was not included, she said that the infant charge is not a payment towards the fare and is purely administrative.

Utter nonsense. Start court proceedings - I'd wager they won't even try to defend.
  • I have just phoned the CAA enquiry line and the lady told me if I have only paid an administrative charge I cannot claim.

If your child had a seat and it wasn't free of charge you are entitled to the same amount of compensation they can call it an admin charge however you still paid for a seat , take them to court they will pay

    The reg says

    "free of charge"

    it doesn't say

"free of charge, when administration charges are excluded".
