    Hi Maldav

Thanks you've supplied some extra information that I wasn't aware of, I was aware that the part and the engineer were taken to Skiathos on the Gatwick flight but I wasn't aware that it may have been the wrong part !!

I appreciate that the more knowledgable people on this forum will advise against going to the CAA as they don't appear to do very much but I've completed their online form and submitted my supporting documents, I rang them on Friday and spoke to a really helpful guy, I'm prepared to give them a chance so I can only wait and see what happens............I'm not expecting much but who knows !!

I think he probably means the amendments to CPR r. 1.1 (overriding objective) and CPR r. 3.9, which have required the court to focus on "enforcing compliance with rules, practice directions and orders" throughout case management.

Thanks Jim, he did nto specify which just that as per the updated Cpr's.....

Well this will come as no surprise to many, despite Monarch being given a copy of the date stamped Warrant request , two different people in 2 different departments promised we would have payment by Friday at the latest

Well guess what, lol we still have not.....if not mistake the county court bailiffs will add a charge on for having to write to them and or call on them :)

shame there is no meida coverage of this...
  • Hi There!!

    Can anyone provide any advice!!??

Myself and family were on the MON1828 Manchester to Corfu on 01/08/11. The flight was delayed over 5 hours. I have filled in all the necessary claim forms that Monarch sent me, they replied back on email last week to say they weren't paying compensation as the delay was due to an extraordinary circumstance; an oil leak from engine number 2 gear box!? I have just submitted a complaint with the CAA. Any advice on if the reason they give is valid or if I do indeed still have a claim to persue?
    many thanks

This is just a quick question.

I am claiming for a six and a half hour delay on flight MON1829 corfu to manchester 18th July 2011, I have all the claim forms from Monarch and have to sign on behalf of any children.

does anyone know whether Monarch class a child as under 16 or under 18?

Also if anyone else has claimed on this flight I would be interested to know as having searched the internet I can't find anyone else who has.

    thanks

molonyj - Monarch website makes plenty of references to children being under 16. You could try posting on

    https://www.facebook.com/MonarchComplaints

for help re contacts for your MON1829 flight but a little like looking for the needle in a haystack.

janeyb75 and molonyj - different dates but one on the outgoing the other on the return - extraordinary circumstances I think not! CAA a waste of time but court should sort Monarch out.
  • Thanks for the replies.

I have found someone who has been successful with a claim on the outgoing flight so I presume they should pay out for the return flight as it was the knock on effect which caused our delay.

Have looked at the monarch facebook complaints page and didn't find our flight, maybe I'm the first to claim for this flight.

Will let everyone know how I get on.

    Love your optimism :)
Were it not Monarch I may be inclined to agree.
