That's really odd: I see it on flightstats as a Thomson flight, but it sounds from what you say that they brought Monarch in at the last moment. Not seen that before on here. Can anticipate Monarch not wanting to know, when you give them a Thomson flight number ...0 -

Oh god thats the last thing i need. The are gonna now just start blaming each other like ping pong now arent they0 -
im reading the Monarch claim form just now & it states that if the delay was longer than 3 hours but shorter than 4 hours then then compensation will be reduced by 50% & you are not entitled to any compensation if covered by extraordinary circumstances!!! can they do that??? The extraordinary circumstances rule is also on the CAA Website0

Had this reply today regarding ZB214 21/12/2010.
"Our records show that the aircraft that operated your flight had experienced disruption to its flying programme due to severe weather conditions. The first problem that it experienced was damage to its water pipes which had been caused by unusually bad weather in the UK. The water system pipes had frozen and ruptured which meant that the aircraft could not have its water tanks filled in case of system damage caused by leaking water. Accordingly these pipes had to be replaced.
The aircraft then had to night stop in Alicante on the next flight due to the crew exceeding their permitted flying hours and having to complete their permitted flying hours and having to complete the required minimum rest period prior to operating the aircraft back to the UK. Then the flight had to divert to Stanstead due to heavy snowfall and runway closure at Gatwick. The aircraft then had to wait for the weather conditions at Gatwick to improve before it could fly back to operate your flight. ""
Any thoughts on this please? I have checked flightstats.. My flight should of left at 7am but left at 3.13pm. The alicante flight they mention is showing as leaving Gatwick at 12.30. Surely they wouldn't of had time to fly to Alicante, back to UK divert to Stanstead then leave there to Gawick in 2 and half hours?
Plus hundreds of flights showing departing Gatwick so no runway closures?
Any advice would be much appreciated.0 -

This has to be a (Monarch) joke - as Mr McEnroe would say (Monarch) "you can not be serious" - I would just start with a 14 day NBA now. Good luck ~ although I don't think you need luck as Monarch have dug their own hole.0 -
Unbelievable!!!
Monarch have given a full admission to 1 of my court claims. They are defending another 2 but its a start. Got to paid yet!
Not sure why this one was special but maybe because it was a previous flight from sharm that had the problem and the crew went over hours.
This was for a flight on 14/10/12 which had an air bleed leak on wing duct.
Still fighting for my others but at least they are responding to the threat of court. :j0 -

Yes, and then the dog ate their homework ...:rotfl:
When I was younger, and thinner, and a junior lecturer, a wise professor told me how to tell when undergraduate students were fibbing about their late essay excuse:
"Those who give you one reason", he said, "will likely be telling you the truth. Those who give you at least two excuses are almost certainly lying."
Monarch have just given you about six.0
