The liability rests with the airline that actually operated the flight irrespective of it having a flight number of someone else (code sharing)
What did it actually say on the side of the aircraft? (if you can remember)

ICH it was Monarch on the side of the aircraft

yes thanks i know that now, its just taken over 56 days to find out.

I asked the Thomsons girl why they couldnt have simply told me that at the start when i initially contacted them by email instead of getting me to fill in all their forms & waiting #frustrating lol

I don't understand - forgive me. If you were flying Monarch, your flight number wouldn't begin TOM. What do you think your flight number was? Dates and route would be helpful too. I've seen no one on this forum mention a Monarch flight with a TOM prefix.

Though your paperwork may give a TOM flight number it will have operated with a Monarch flight number (ZB/MON). This you will need to make a claim

Its was a TOM flight number BUT Monarch on the side of the plane. TOM1654 on 8/9/12 from Edinburgh to Las Palmas with the scheduled departure time of 4.40pm. This flight arrived 3 hours 8 minutes late at Gran Canaria.

    Thanks for all your replies
