Should I have to pay to leave my contract?

Well the phone was purchased through buymobilephones.net,
In that case why do you think it is T Mobile's problem, they are just providing the network.0 -
Got to be honest and say that I haven't heard of 2 year warranties underwritten by networks, but that may be ignorance on my part....it sounds like your handset is no longer supported and there is nothing that can be done....0

Almost all smart phones are covered under a 2 year manufacturers warranty, they may of been mistaken that they supplied the hardware or they might of been trying to do you a favor by sending the phone off for a warranty repair but it would of still of gone back to a HTC repair centre regardless of who sent it.
No network would give you a warranty on hardware they didn't supply
ok, that makes sense, just wish they would have explained that to me.0 -
It sounds like my path forward is to cantact HTC then and see what they say. thanks for the help everyone. i will let you know what HTC say.0

I was referring to t-mobile repairing it, not direct with the manufacturer.
You can log into t-mobile and review your contract there on the 'my plan' tab, it gives you start date, end date, inclusive calls/texts/internet etc. However as you bought a unsupported phone, I doubt this would be proof of purchase when approaching htcRoll on DFD, final payment 1st October 2017 :beer:0 -
"No longer supported" implies that it was supported before.0

haha I see what your saying now reading it back, the post explaining the phone was bought from a third party was posted whilst i was writing my post, i'm not the fastest writerRoll on DFD, final payment 1st October 2017 :beer:0 -
The phone is a HTC Evo 3D, I admit I was surprised when I spoke to T-mobile and they said it has a 2 year warranty. I don't have anything to back it up, just T-mobiles word so far. I guess I could ring them and ask for details of the warranty.
They are correct, all HTC phones have a 24 month warranty. HTC are pretty good at repairs, call them/use their web chat service, they will arrange for the phone to be picked up by UPS, repair it and send it back to you.0 -
Basically because they said they would and they said it was covered by warranty. From what they say, if they could select the phone in their drop down list on the repairs screen then they would have no issue in sending it off for repair.
It's possible that T-Mobile never offered that handset in their stores / online and hence they cannot select it. Just because BuyMobile phones sold them to you as a package it doen nto means it was ever offered by T-Mobile.ok, I will try HTC, my only concern there is I haven't got any proof of purchase or anything but I guess T-mobile could supply me with that if I ask as they know who the phone was form and when I received it along with when the contract started etc.
T-Mobile will only know know when the airtime agreement started, not when the phone was bought and may not know what phone was bought at that time. It's usually the phone warranty and contract start at the same time but it could be you got the deal with a different phone and swapped it so thats no guarantee
You need to get the proof of purchase from the seller BuyMobile Phones. It would have come with the phoen or as an email, if you have lost it you need to try and get a duplicate out of BMP, however HTC may be able to work out the age from the serial number, the only issue may be if it's a grey import from outside the UK, in which case you need to back to BMP to get the issue resolved.0 -
Well I rang HTC and they immediately emailed me a postage label for UPS and arranged for it to be collected the next day (even offered to collect it the same day but I was at work) After only 4 working days HTC have fixed my phone and returned it to me so now I have a working phone again
.
Also I have cancelled my T-mobile contract due to them making me run around for no reason (making me go to the shop n the middle of town) and telling me I would be receiveing a new phone and then changing their mind without telling me. Never using T-mobile again.
Thanks for your help everyone
Oh and HTC never asked for any proof of purchase0
