It's through a company called grassroots, you don't have to pay to register and they email you whenever there is something in your area. You have to be really quick to see the email and accept! They're very prompt to pay too.
I worked for them for years and they are barstewards when the slightest thing goes wrong. One might say that this is fair enough but a slight little thing happened outside my control and they refused to pay me. I did not need the money anyway and never worked for them again even though they kept ringing me up offering me work and asking me to do last minute favours:eek::eek:never stop doing your best because someone doesn't give you credit0 -
Shortfatscotsbloke wrote: »Mimi, you are spot on with your comments this afternoon. We are all having to tighten our belts at the moment and, whilst costs everywhere have risen and most of us haven't had a pay rise for 4 years, we all still have to try to cope somehow.
With this in mind, why should the taxpayer have to pay for benefits for people who live in council (or privately rented) houses that are larger than they need? Why should we pay £200 per week for a single person to live in a 3 bed house when they could live in a £80 one bed flat instead?
I know that there are exceptions to every rule and Tweets may be one of them (as are pensioners who are exempt from the new rules), however, the rule in itself is a good one and generally a fair one (in today's climate).
Council's benefit departments do have the discretion to pay extra housing benefit in cases of severe hardship.
They will have a discretionary payment, but this will only be a lump sum per authority, and once this has gone, it's tough tits to anyone else who asks for it after. I have a feeling this lump sum will be gone in no time!
Live in carers will no longer be allowed the extra bedroom housing benefit. My heart goes out to all the poor folk who need a carer 24/7! How will they cope?
Also, it's about time the government did something about all the European folk from the EC/EU who come over and can apply for benefits and "free" housing straight away! Shouldn't people who have worked all their lives here be given preference over them? Sorry if I am talking out of turn, but it annoys me when we can't offer assistance to folk who have worked all their lives and have come under hardship, but we can give out "free" houses to EU/EC citizens who have only recently landed here!0 -

FALSE. It's not just council properties, it is aimed at ANYONE who receives HOUSING BENEFIT. So you can live in a council house or a private rented property. If you have bedrooms that are not used, you will pay. Simple.
It's unfair that this lady friend of yours is having to pay extra. If I were her, I would complain to the local council. Why she was allocated a 3 bedroomed property is crazy. Kids of the same sex under 18 are expected to share a bedroom (this is a rule set by the government which all councils should follow), so this lady should only ever have had a 2 bedroomed property: 1 room for her and partner/husband and 1 room for the 2 girls.
This article says it applies to those in social housing only, i.e. those in privately rented houses will be unaffected

Thanks hun, just not sure whether the dine in for £10 is for me, we don't drink so don't really want the wine. Would have loved the £5 meal deal but it looks like its finished.
I don't drink either so what suits me is
2 boxes of grapes
2 tomatoes
2 wee boxes of salad (posh ones like cous cous)
3 for 2 frozen
you get the drift:Dnever stop doing your best because someone doesn't give you credit0 -
