i say this as a lady in the same school as my dd has to start paying 12 rent a week as her 2 dd have bedroom eah and thats a 3 bed hose with mum and 2 dd ages 2 and 4 so because council gidelines say they can share a room the kids , then she was told to pay rent or move to smaller house so she pays the 12pound
FALSE. It's not just council properties, it is aimed at ANYONE who receives HOUSING BENEFIT. So you can live in a council house or a private rented property. If you have bedrooms that are not used, you will pay. Simple.
It's unfair that this lady friend of yours is having to pay extra. If I were her, I would complain to the local council. Why she was allocated a 3 bedroomed property is crazy. Kids of the same sex under 18 are expected to share a bedroom (this is a rule set by the government which all councils should follow), so this lady should only ever have had a 2 bedroomed property: 1 room for her and partner/husband and 1 room for the 2 girls.0 -

tweets I am sorry your having such a miserable time at work and hope it works out or you find a better job ( or win lottery
), I do disagree with the "extra" bedroom rule, as you say there are not many 1 bed houses and even if there was you have a DS who I bet still calls your house home, the system needs an overhaul when a 16 year old can demand a house for her and her two kids and not pay any rent yet a hard working single person pays a penalty, I don't know the soloution but there must be one.
I know, I think it's crazy how teenage/young Mom's are given houses left, right and centre but people who have worked all their lives can't get any help because there are no houses left!0 -
Stanley Gibbons always used to be the obvious one they are in Central London you should be able to find them by googling or maybe an auction house, google stamp valuers or valuations I was watching one of those type of programmes the other day if stamps are in an album fixed by stamp hinges that knocks quite a lot off of their value
I was surprised

i meant housing benifit recipiants sorry;) but put council as most housing benifit is capped (we i think im no expert lol)
she was given the house when pregnant with dd1 over 4 years ago , she did argue with them but they offered her a house away from the area and she refused so choice was pay or move out0 -
