For once I am not grumpy, I've just had a very sad couple of days, so I haven't posted anything. I had to go to the funeral of a good friend yesterday who died at the age of 47, a week before Christmas. It seems that he was misdiagnosed after a car accident a couple of years ago which eventually resulted in him having a massive heart attack.
I knew a week before the funeral that he had died and I had been fine with it. However, when I actually sat down in the church, it hit me, very hard. When I saw all the slides of him and his family on the ohp and realised that neither they, nor I were ever going to see him again, I couldn’t control myself and the waterworks started. I had gone to the church completely unprepared, without tissues or anything to keep my dignity intact, just the back of my hand, which after a short time wasn’t really enough.
Anyway, a moral I can take from this (albeit a bit too late)..
Don’t lose touch with good friends, as although with great friends you can always catch up the next time you see them as if you had never been apart, sometimes fate kicks in and you never get the opportunity.:(:(0 -
Just a quick reminder that any outstanding Sweet Sundays cinema vouchers must be exchanged for cinema tickets by 13/01/2013 (tomorrow)!0

Patty, do u think they are being reasonable asking my friend to move away from the adjoining wall with her lil baby? do u think it's reasonable for others to tell u where u should / shouldn't sleep in your own home?
I think that next door neighbours are being arrises but it will cause the parents less stress if they can get that child calmed. Every time that child cries they jump because of worry about their neighbours. If they up sticks away from the adjoining wall they will be at peace to solve the problem without stress of the arrises.
They would be doing it for themselves iyswim:)never stop doing your best because someone doesn't give you credit0 -
Safely home.
Post date discussion later as I am off to cook some food.

I am so sorry, he was obviously a dear friend. x I completely agree with what you are saying about keeping in touch, been guilty of not doing this myself and lost loved ones who I can never contact again. So sad.guys need your help for my friend, any advice appreciated....she is distraught, new baby and she's been unwell and her baby has been so ill they have had to take the little bub to the hospital, now back from the hospital....8th day in a row now their next door neighbour is banging and shouting obscenities through the bedroom wall 'shup up you little !!!!!!!' is what the woman shouted yesterday and beat the wall down with something (sounded like a boot to my friend), her husband has also come over to my friend and her o/h and had a word - he told them to move bedrooms...
what do u all think?
oh if only...if only i were local to her...being silly meI'd hide and send my evil twin round to deal with them:p <---lame attempt at a joke me silly moi;)
welcome creative25...you are so welcome here:)
Blurgh, what horrible neighbours. I can understands that it is annoying being woken up but I cant bear people who bang on walls like that. Why dont they knock on the door and say what they have to say and maybe find out what the problem is? I live next door to someone with two young girls and they wake me up a lot but I would never dream of banging the wall. Im sure she doesnt like being woke up anymore than I do. I live in a terraced house in a busy city and just accept their will always be noise!
If I was your friend I would knock their door and politely explain that the baby is very poorly and that they are doing their best. If that doesnt shame them then there is no helping them!dreamerbea wrote: »I have been thinking of getting a couple of these style dog toys as we have a collie x who constantly wants to play ball so have been thinking of getting her using her brain, I told hubby and daughter to let her settle when she was a puppy but do they listen to me (NO they didn't) so now if hubby or daughter are in the room she thinks it is play time.
I will also check out the book
Yes, these toys will be perfect for your clever collie x. I bet she will love them! Do let me know how you get on. Good luck x"I expect to pass through this world but once.
