I'm pretty new to the facebook bandwagon (I'm a myspace girl at heart), always good to have another group to join - member no 88!0

Not here as well.
My church's chat forum has gone the way of the dodo due to facebook.
Am I turning into one of those oldies who can't be bothered to get to grips with this new fangled technology?!Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Ohhh I did. My 1st "note" on my FB account is the following:Is it like Myspace? Is it like FaceParty? Will I keep this profile/account longer than 6 months?
Time will tell.... so far there's far too many questions and drop downs and requests floating around.
*shakes hallibut at the progress of internet communities and websites*
One day I'll communicate only by messages in bottles floated down the Thames...
...so if in a few months time you see a bottle in the Thames with a boots voucher and a choccie wrapper, you know it's all gone horribly wrong:rotfl:0 -

PS and yes, i've got a myspace one coming soon too....
I think there should be a flickr group.
Some images here will probably expire soon when people are using free hosts that might keep the image only for a limited time, also maybe people could subscribe to the MSE group an see when new posts are put up.
Members would also have more control over being able to delete their photo.0 -
im a member of the official one and the appreciation society
does that make me a groupie?!know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
If there are going to be various official groups, maybe members might want to put something like a ClaimID page as their homepage in their MSE profile.
You basically get a single page where you point to your various online identities and can mark them things like "by me" or "about me". Useful as you may have used different usernames on different sites
You can also mark things "Not me" if someone is pretending to be you on another site, or if someone has a similar name/username.
As a bonus, you can use it to login to sites that use the new OpenID system (A bit like the old MSN Passport except it's open rather than giving control to Microsoft)0 -
I love Facebook. It's much much better than Myspace as it's all standardised and runs nice and smoothly.
The best thing about Facebook is the way it's community based with the networks. It's fantastic for communicating with fellow students.
I do think it should keep it's student/graduate focus.. Aim at educating about student finances.0 -
Nice one Martin!
One hint - you could set your profile as public - go to privacy settings and change it so everyone can see your profile, assuming that's what you want.
May also want to join the LSE 'group' :T :cool:0
