Atos "doctors" lying is a moot point however as far as the LIMA computer software that Atos developed to drive these WCAs is concerned the "doctor or HCP" can override the computers decisions and put their own observations in. However given that Atos have targets to throw people off benefits this I suppose rarely happens and the computer invariably says NO and hence the high rate of successful appeals at huge cost to the taxpayer but not to Atos who are laughing all the way to the bank!

I heard a rumour that an Atos doctor has to have a really good reason to overide the system and change the final stock answers. If they change too many stock answers they get looked at for quality control and may lose their job. No idea if it's true.

As I have put on here before, a friend of mine is an Atos doctor and although he does not say much about his job, He did tell me that he was very restricted in what he actually could put on the computer. To be honest I didn't understand a lot he said, he talked about questions over ruling other questions. He did tell me a lot about what goes on at the assessment and what the Atos doctor looks out for. Makes reading this thread very interesting though.

Yes it looks like my dd's assessment and/or doctor was audited after her WCA as it took so long for the DWP to receive it. Thankfully, eventually, they got it right

you are correct regarding the process. If the appointment relates to ESA I don’t know why it would have been arranged. Apart from the questionnaire reminder letter it is the return of the questionnaire or the passing of the return date that prompts further action. Does a HCP' specifically a NURSE have to identify themselves with their name and registration number in the same way that a Doctor must tell you his or her GMC number.
