I do find the WCA and the assessors are very hit and miss.
Last time - 0 points. Fit for work. Now don't get me wrong, my dd wasn't as bad as she is now last time, but definitely hit the descriptors for WRAG, possibly SG but definitely WRAG. The examiner did tell lies about her, even daft ones, like the applicant was wearing make up.... so what? She wasn't wearing make up, but why make something like that up? But anyhoo, after being seen by a different assessor (GP) she has now been placed in SG.
I would like to know, even if it's other people's experience, or even the ATOS rep, if they find the doctors are more thorough when doing these assessments than HCP (nurses and physios for example).
The experience we've had seems to show this. From 3 (including my own) WCA, the 2 that have been successful to the applicant have been done by doctors. The one that was full of untruths was done by one of your HCP. So it does make me wonder4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
JS477, sorry for the delay in this answer as well. DWP make the decision on the most appropriate recording solution. The current solution and number of machines is reviewed with them on a regular basis and should there be a need to provide more machines this would be decided during that review. The mobile solution with 52 devices is currently workable.
Although I'm not able to provide actual numbers within the remit on this forum, I can say that a very small proportion (less than 1%) of people having assessments ask for them to be audio recorded.
TBH we thought about asking for it to be recorded, but because of the delays due to lack of equipment we didn't. Sure wish we had stuck to our guns on that point for the first assessment though4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Atos Rep.
How many official complaints have been lodged against ATOS since they started the WCA?
Hi dori2o,
our remit on this forum is to explain more about our process so that we can help people who are asked to have an assessment as part of their claim. Although we aren’t able to give figures about our overall service, it might be helpful to say that a very low proportion (less than 1%) of assessments result in a complaint. We take all complaints very seriously and we have a robust process for dealing with them that is also audited independently by the DWP. The contact details for making a complaint are included in leaflets sent to customers before they attend an assessment, they are available at the assessment centre and they can also be found on our website.“Official Company Representative
I am the official company representative of Atos Healthcare. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -

Hi ...We take all complaints very seriously and we have a robust process for dealing with them that is also audited independently by the DWP.
If you have a 'robust process' why on earth don't you tell your customers about it ??? How can anyone possibly know what the process is when you refuse to give them access to it or to don't mention it on your website ? (if it is there, please do let me know).
In addition, do you not think that you should change your customer charter in many places - for example: "We will conduct a fair, accurate and objective assessment of how you are affected by your health condition.... " ... "An approved healthcare professional will assess
you fairly and accurately"
Would it not be better to change this to "We AIM to conduct..." and "An approved hcp will AIM to assess you fairly and accurately" as otherwise the vast swathes of people who you have treat unfarily and assessed inaccurately will believe that you are even larger liars. At least if you state you are aiming for this, people might be more willing to give you the benefit of the doubt ?"

Thats Ok I only asked it on 23rd January!! Clearly the fewer the number of recording machines available the better as far as Atos is concerned because the less chance a sick and disabled person has of protecting themselves against a sub-standard WCA by getting it recorded.Although I'm not able to provide actual numbers within the remit on this forum, I can say that a very small proportion (less than 1%) of people having assessments ask for them to be audio recorded.
Is this because Atos fails to make it known to people who they drag into their processing centres to be more than likely found fit for work that they can have their WCA recorded! It's clearly not in Atos's best interests to have these WCAs recorded as the HCP cannot then alter what was said because these recordings can be used at an appeal!
As for your remit it appears that MSE has been very obliging to you by not allowing awkward questions to be asked and only questions whose answers can more or less be found on the Atos website being allowed.
Hopefully then you can now answer this question.
How many "Atos doctors" or "Healthcare professionals" are currently under investigation by the General Medical Council over allegations of improper conduct?0 -
I can say that a very small proportion (less than 1%) of people having assessments ask for them to be audio recorded.
Firstly you must realise that not everyone who is treat unfairly by you makes a complaint, particularly with the nature of your client group.
Secondly 'less than 1%' is certainly NOT necessarily a "very small proportion" - it depends how much less. If 1% of people complained about me in my position, I would not be in it very long at all and rightly so.

Hi Atos PR Rep,
Can I please aske, How many of you from ATOS are posting on here,
I Have now counted 3 diffident styles of writing.
(I may have missed some)
If anyone whats to check the go back to the first post. Read the posts though and you will see The person posting on behalf of atos has changed the words they use. and the way they use the words.
Now it dose not matter to me if we get a diffident person posting every day. But it would help if we suck to the same person. That way mistake will be cut down on. We have already found mistakes in your posts were they don't mach up to some of your earlier posts.
If you are going to change people then that is find. But please make sure that they read what has been write in posts before.:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0
