Will it be ok if my brother-in-law comes with me,he's a consultant in Rheumatology at my local NHS hospital?
    Hi vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv.

    Yes, that would be fine.

A Consultant Rheumatologist!!!!!! I can just see the so called "healthcare professionals" face! :rotfl:

I'd still get it recorded though as you can never be too careful with Atos!

and the DLA money...so a fair bit more than £56??

DLA whether rightly or wrongly is not money to live on. It's money to help with extra transport costs and care needs.

The money the government says she needs to live on during assessment rate is £56 and was the same before she got her DLA. So trust me, she knows about living on £56/week.

Regardless, the decision is being held up because her assessment has been held back for audit purposes.

Zoominatorone I've just spent several hours reading through all 23 pages of this thread and not all of us claim DLA when unfit for work. So yes we do struggle on a £56. This and your previous post where you refer to people with mental health "issues" (your quotation marks) just wanting a punching bag seems to indicate you have some issues and ill-informed prejudices of your own.
I've come to this forum via a mention on the Benefits and Work site as I thought I may get some answers to questions of my own. However after reading ALL the posts and selective choice of inane replies made by the Atos rep I've come to the conclusion that it’s frankly a waste of my time.
OK so some peeps are blowing off steam and maybe some of their anger would be better directed towards the DWP then Atos; after all they are the organ grinder to the Atos monkey. Yet that anger has accumulated as a direct result of their personal experience at the hands of Atos. What's your interest in this thread other than perpetuating the stigma created by the media's mythical scrounging benefits cheats?
my question was directed at a specific post (indeed to the one I replied to) where the poster has already stated her DD gets DLA money on top of the £56 a week.
My interest in this thread is none of your business, the same as your interest in this thread is none of mine. Have a nice day.
  • Hi Mordred12,

I’m afraid I can’t provide a specific time for different stages as it will vary. Atos Healthcare aims to respond to DWP with advice on WCA referrals on average within 7 weeks. A number of factors can influence this, including whether information is requested from your GP or the number of cases to be assessed. When you then hear from DWP could be affected by the time taken by the DWP decision maker to consider all the available information.

Thanks for that...You have only answered part of the question though, ie: Atos consulting Dwp if assessment was not needed.

How long roughly does it take from a person sending the Esa50 form off and Atos calling you for an Assessment if one is needed? And is there any way a person may check up on the progress and see at what stage it's at?

Mordred12, sorry if I wasn’t clear. The 7 weeks I mention is not with reference to just advice after a paper based review, but also covers where a face to face assessment has taken place. So if a face to face assessment is required you would normally hear about it within this period. You can contact us using the details in our profile to discuss your particular case.

    A question.

Who decided on the make/model of audio recording machine Atos or the DWP?

Dear atos rep, can you deny that recordings are made of attendants while thay are in the waiting room, and that their behaviour in the waiting room forms part of the assesment.

    Thank you
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
