Could this be because many HCP's do not read them ? or do not have a great understanding of the English language? I only ask because I read of many cases where the HCP isn't interested in medical reports that are provided at the time of the assessment by the claimant.

Either that or the Pre-Board check wasn't carried out properly!!

But surely, if the ATOS report is carried out correctly, which you say it is, why would there be ANY evidence that would contradict it whether it is submitted or not?

Turning it round the other way, when would ATOS accept any responsibility for preparing a substandard and poor report?

The Handbook that Atos are supposed to adhere to states "The HCP will review the information available and may choose to ask for further medical evidence." This is at the Pre-Board check which is "designed to identify those claimants who may be eligible for entry into the “Support Group” or those claimants who may meet certain criteria to be treated as having limited capability for work without having an examination."

As for Atos taking responsibility for the sub-standard reports they produce which lead to the taxpayer having to fork out £millions in appeals you have more chance of Nick Clegg growing a spine!!

I have some very serious health issues which was the result of a quadrupole bypass leaving me with many difficulties including not being able to walk to far without getting out of breath and using my GTN, and my lungs filling up with liquid every day, I also can not leave the house until my medication has done its job which is about 2.30/3.00 pm
each and everyday. I stated all this in my ESA50 and I've also sent in a medical report from my doctor but I was amazed that the Atos HCP (Nurse who I can not find on the GMC site) who looked at my case said "The level of disability is unclear" When all my paperwork sent in clearly states my limitations and was backed up by a report from my GP. Not only have they got this wrong, Atos for 12 months now; can't even get an appointment time correct knowing I can not leave home at say 10 am they send me an appointment for 10 am  to date I have had 11 appointments which have all had to be cancelled. So my question the Atos rep is simple: If you have read what I have written here? how can anyone make such a statement as this "The level of disability is unclear" and you can make this a general answer as I'm sure you will.

    Hi clouty

We also only provide information on capability, which DWP will use to come to a ‘fit for work’ decision.

You also advise when a return to work could be considered as given by this section from the handbook.

dear ATOS , why do you employ liars? why do you employ people with less medical knowledge about my condition than i have to make potentially life changing decisions about my families future? why are you so petrified of people recording your assesment tests if you are up front and transparent? why do you chose to ignore indesputable medical evidence regarding peoples conditions in favour of the "opinion" of some nurses you employ? Are you aware that medical proof always trumps your staff's personal opinions and if so why do you still chose to ignore it? Why do you get scared and give in whenever a claimant contacts their MP and instantly do a u turn on your decision as i have seen several times now?

With regards to this, can you please explain why the person completing this form does not have to complete the "Justification for the above advice" section?

The Doctor completing my medical stated that a return to work could be considered within 3 months yet has not provided any reason or justification for this recommendation. As this case is now going to tribunal it is extremely difficult to argue against this advice without a reason being given.

That is why it's vital to request a copy of the WCA report to check that Atos have done their job properly. It's really not surprising that 40% of appeals are successful against these sub-standard WCAs. It just a shame Atos gets away with them scott free.

    Hi clouty

We are not informed of the final outcome of the claims that we are involved with. We also only provide information on capability, which DWP will use to come to a ‘fit for work’ decision. The Tribunal Service have reported that very few decisions are changed due to issues with the report that we produce, and in many cases there has been additional evidence presented at the Appeal that was not previously available.

We do not have any targets based on the percentage of people the DWP find eligible for the support group.

Are you actually going to answer the questions from customers or are you hellbent on this PR exercise. Instead of answering genuine questions within the guidelines set out at the start of the thread you are instead operating a PR exercise discussing issues outside of the guidelines set out in the thread. I'd very much love to challenge you on the tribunal matter (and your laughable claims of customer satisfaction) here but unlike yourself I stick to the rules. I note that 3 of your first 4 posts on MSE had to be amended due to touting for business or other rule breaks.

Answer relevant customer questions.. yes the ones that mean you have to accept that the world isn't perfect! Otherwise there is no point you being here and you simply highlight the problem with ATOS HC... you don't care about 'customers' and you do not listen.

    To Atos Healthcare company representative

    Are Atos assessors on commission?

Don't know about monetary commission but fairly sure they are TARGET/STATISTICALLY driven...
