Queries around compensation payments aren’t something that I can answer.

Regarding complaining, if someone disagrees with the advice provided to the DWP about how they are affected by their medical condition it is appropriate to pursue this with the DWP office handling their claim. The DWP decide entitlement to benefit based on all available evidence; the report from the health care professional is one piece of evidence.

The DWP (as part of their reconsideration process) and HM Courts and Tribunal Service (when deciding an appeal), will consider all evidence afresh to determine a claim.

It is one thing to challenge the contents of an ATOS medical report with the DWP, but as far as a complaint is concerned then it should be directed to ATOS.

ATOS are contracted by the DWP to produce the medical report, their HCP signs to confirm the contents of that report as being correct and factual, at no point are the DWP involved in that process, the responsibility lies wholely with ATOS.

No, MSE are just taking the notes. They wouldn't be letting an Atoss rep post here for any other reason.

So what has happened to LiMA (Logic Integrated Medical Assessment) software for use by Atos doctors and Atos nurses to carry out "medical" assessments on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions?


Secondly

Do Atos "doctors" and "nurses" have to introduce themselves at the beginning of the processing procedure? I understand they may wear name badges but my question is do they verbally have to introduce themselves to the person they are processing?

Sorry about the delay in responding to you. LiMA is a tool the HCP uses to report the findings of the assessment, it is not conducting the assessment. LiMA supports consistency in the report and enables an electronic version to be sent to DWP. HCPs are not driven by the application and they are always required to use their own clinical judgement and experience.

It is part of our policy that HCPs introduce themselves at the start of an assessment

I have complained directly to Atos HO and in theory I should get a reply by 15th of March unless they contact me to say they need more time to investigate? That's what it says in their letter I received about 3 weeks a go.

Thank you for your response. In the event of a HCP not formally introducing themselves can a claimant request their name and area of qualification and what happens if the HCP refuses to comply?

Also can you confirm that the LiMA software determines the follow up questions the HCP asks the claimant based on the claimants previous answers and LiMA formulates the final report?
