    Good luck!

My wife had the same food issues as you until her late twenties, then she "grew up". Her words. The only things she won't eat now are peas and sweetcorn... but she's working on it.
  • So far ive got.... A drink of pure juice ,2weetabix with skimmed milk for breakfast @8am. Then an apple around 9.30/10am. I leave for work at half 10 and i imagine i will get 15 min break about 1ish. Then its a cuppa and probably the go ahead bar.. 3pm is lunch and ive just done 140g of micro rice and half a tin of tuna. I will eat the activia yogurt and my banana.so i can take my lunchbox in my locker as nothing fridgy in it and on final break my crisps either quavers or skips not decided yet. I will get in around 8.15pm so will probs have 2 ryvita with light cheese spread on it. sounds ok to me????
does my bum look big in this sig?
  • .I just dont like veg . I dont see what the fuss is about. theres millions out there who dont like meat and fish no one tells them to grow up and eat it. I dont know a single person who salivates over the smell of cabbage cooking but i know lots who get excited over sunday roast or bacon sandwich when theyre in the pan... Anyhoo im off to go and look at the maltesers longingly... :(

  • Your mindset seems to be in the "this is going to be torture" mode.

It's not. You're going to lose some weight, build some muscles, get healthy and feel better! You're not "going on a diet", you're cleaning up what you eat. You're not "punishing" with exercise, you're improving your body.

Your outlook on this is the first thing that has to change, or nothing else will.

Regards cabbage cooking etc...urgh. You're right in that nobody salivates over that. But I DO salivate over a good bolognese sauce with lean mince, or a chilli packed with beans and peppers, or a chicken stew with sweetcorn and herby non-suet dumplings! It's not all bad :) As for your other examples - Sunday dinner includes veg - at least potatoes - and if I fry bacon all I can think of is the calories *chuckles*

Your food for today sounds fine though I'd probably try for some protein with the Ryvita - the other half of the tuna or a handful of nuts?

I havent read all the thread just your first post and a few ont he last page.....

Your doing well to go from a guy who doesnt eat veggies or anything healthy to all the stuff you posted above.....

But you dont seem happy and it seems forced.

You got to enjoy eating the things on your new diet.

Quavers or skips......no matter how much you conince yourslef they are "light and airy" are not good for you...lol....those are the things you need to cut out

and you need to man up and start trying some veggies, you eat pizza....with no veg?

    Thats just plain wierd.....fix up

You eat potatoes and now rice? Well thats just carbs and more carbs

    crisps= carbs

    pizza = carbs

Your diet isnt balanced at all

the yogart is good, tuna is good but skip the rice mate.....just a tuna salad would be much better

remove bread and potatoes from some meals

bloody exercise! and then you can eat carbs as they need to be replaced

its all in your head to be honest.....you know it and so do i......

but i do think your doing well because your trying......progress is being made, but now its time to build on that progress and take it up a level

planned meals that only have protien, bit of exercise....then carbs

    small meals, boost metabolism

its all about how much you want it...........its you......allllllllllllll you

    ;)

    good luck mate :)
  • Sorry but people here have given you good advice and you just come back with no no no or nothing at all You have been told you have a problem either do something about it or don't

and i was reeling from the 'what vegetarian muck' comment from a person who buys misshapen chicken nuggets do you know what goes in them because it isn't Chicken Breast.. that to me is MUCK and what on earth are in 11p noodles i wouldn't touch either with a barge pole you must be filling up on processed and other junk food to have put on so much weight (yet you say you eat hardly anything)

Sorry but it seems like a lost cause situation

    Good Luck
  • If you're brought up on processed food, you become dulled to other tastes. Sometimes people don't like things - that's the way of nature.

Those were my first thoughts but, like I said, my wife was similarly weird with food when I met her. The only vegetables she would eat were chips and mashed potato. Chicken nuggets and similar cräp featured highly in her diet too. She would deign to eat a pizza made with tomato puree. It was shock to me because I thought only small children were as fussy with food as that, not grown women.

I started mashing up root vegetables in her potato and generally sneaking veg into her diet wherever I could. Gradually she changed. However, I think she wanted to.

Now she will eat virtually anything and is quite happy(ish) cleaning innards out of fish/birds etc.

As others have said, it's all in the mind.
  • Yep, I was the same - see my thread "I don't like veg..."

What I think I meant was "I don't like some vegetables, especially root veg." I like sweetcorn, peppers, and a myriad of other things, just not carrots, sweet potatoes, turnips and the ilk.I think it's the texture - I'm not keen on boiled potatoes either.

I kept putting veg into things like chilli and bolognese and got used to it. I still won't eat them if there's meat on the go, but I'm better than I used to be.

OP, you can do this :)

Yes. texture was/is my wife's problem. Peas and sweetcorn still cause her problems. I don't think she's keen on mushrooms either unless they are in soup.

I can sympathise because, although I am well known as a human dustbin, warm sultanas in rice pudding or a curry etc make me heave. Cold in a cake, no problem.
