theyre ace, the cookies make me drool.
I like apples, pears, satsumas, bananas raisins n currents.berries have to be mushy as my mouth doesnt like the feel of them. I tend to stick to ragu sauce as any other sauce has big lumps of onion or tomatoes in.
junk food to me is biscuits and cakes n chocolate... Ooh and cheesy biscuits...does my bum look big in this sig?0 -

i didnt like the price of the greek yogs, but activia snack pots were 5 for a pound in heron this morning ( on a veeeeryy tight budget) they say fat free so will give them a whirl. Bought foreign import ryvitas n low fat cheese spread. Low fat beef mince bought (yellow stickered in asda). Also bought the low fat mug shot pasta things as theyre low in fat.(thinking for work). Just found out that skips crisps are lower in cals than quavers and french fries. Also stocked up on skimmed milk, plastic milk, rice, tuna, porridge and go ahead bars for when im nibbly.
Ive not had any 'ill effects' from the chicken nuggets last night.. i think i got away with that. Since ive been taking the xenical ive had very few oil slicks unlike last time that was every day several times . Quite pleased really :-D now to meal plan... Tonights meal is smash and a small steak pie from the local deli. Mmmmm . The meats good stuff not fat ridden n the pastrys not overly thick n theyre lovely. Mmm the rest of the brood are having chips. ive opted for smash as i can portion control that more than normal mash.
Its going to be difficult to eat better over the next 2 weeks as im working 11-8pm. My lunch is at 3pm and get home around 8.15 so a decent meal is out of the question then. At work ive. Got access to a toaster, microwave and a fridge... Any suggestions?
maybe beans on toast at work then a quick veg stir fry when you get home? I love beans on toast - topped with some grated cheese. Tesco often do 3 stir fry things for £3 - fresh veg, egg noodles and sauce. The veg and noodles can be stretched out with extra peppers/onions etc, and the sauce can be stretched with soy sauce/stock and chinese 5 spice powder. This gives more than enough for 3/4 people esp. with your miniscule portions!0 -
There's another really good book which I use all the time <<rummages about in kitchen>>........
"How to feed your whole family a healthy, balanced diet with very little money.... and hardly any time, even if you have a tiny kitchen......." by Gill Holcombe. Full of easy wholesome meals, snacks etc. It makes sure you plan your meals so that nothing is wasted. I'm not saying it's diet food but everything can be adapted. The secret to following a healthy diet is home cooking. Processed food is full of fat, sugar and salt.
I've made loads of stuff in it. I have dozens of cook books and I can honestly say this is the one that gets used the most.0 -
Warning on those 11p noodles as well - they often have upwards of 400cals a pack!
Smash is a favourite of mine - don't add butter or cheese thoughDefinitely dust off the rower - they work your core too. Stick it in front of the TV. Dig out Wii Fit, and google the Angry Birds workout (I think it's on Nerd Fitness).
Dried fruit still counts as a portion, and I find it really filling. If you like raisins, try the fruit roll snack things for kids, and also dried cranberries. Berries also freeze well - I find frozen berries great for snacking as they don't feel like berries, they crunch like sweets

That happens at first, but stick with it - it will get much more comfortable after a couple of weeks...You and the saddle just need to learn to..."accommodate" one another0 -

Apples, pears, satsumas and bananas are all fine to eat on Slimming World. Not sure if raisins and currants are, they could be something called a Healthy Extra, an HE(A) or HE(B)
With Slimming World Extra Easy you can eat all lean meats, including bacon (fat removed;)), all pasta's, all rice, all potatoes, all veg and fruit without calorie counting. You also have a Healthy Extra A and Healthy extra B and then between 5-15 syns a day. A Healthy Extra A could be milk or cheese (there is a list to choose from). A Healthy Extra B could be wholemeal bread (again, you pick from the list). A typical example could be
Breakfast - your allowance of porridge oats, made with water and sweetner. Grate an apple into the porridge. Eat a banana after the porridge. Porridge oate are classed as a HEB, but you have also had some super free with the fruit.
Lunch - Baked pototoe with baked beans and then you could eat more fruit afterwards. Pototoes and baked beans are free foods.
Tea/Dinner - Spag bol, extra lean mince, (try hiding finely chopped veg, like onion, celery, carrot), passatta, a pinch of mixed herbs and garlic. The passata is purreed(sp) tomatoe, so its part of your super free veg or fruit. You could aslo grate your HEA of cheese on top of your spag bol if you haven't used your HEA as milk in brews during the day. But you would also need to eat some more fruit after your meal.
You then have up to 15 syns to eat, you could pick a small chocolate bar, or a packet of crisps, something small enough to be classed as a treat. Or you could use those syns in your meals. If you used your Ragu sauce in the Spag Bol that jar is (or was, syns could have changed) nearly 12 syns.
You can also make half a syn cake on SW;)

I've never done Slimming World but I know a few who have and they've all had amazing results.0 -
"How to feed your whole family a healthy, balanced diet with very little money.... and hardly any time, even if you have a tiny kitchen......." by Gill Holcombe has now been bought off of ebay thanks
wii fat has been sourced at my sisters house.but seeing her on sunday as its my ds's birthday (more cake)
this weeks uht milk is candia just milk was cheaper that tesco value and comes in a bottle. thought handy for work as a tetra packs a nightmare in a communal fridge...
i had a tip from someone at work ages ago re 11p noodles, i take out the sachet of crap and cook with a chicken stock cube.. apparently thats better.?????
im gonna look at that cake in a min.does my bum look big in this sig?0 -
Good luck with your weight loss....it's hard work.
You had a question about fruit teas. I think you would like the red ones- there are various berries, also sanguino orange.
I note you can get to Asda- their own fruit teas are nice and are cheaper than Twinings (only 74pence.) I particularly like their blackcurrant and strawberry & forest fruit. They've also got Cranberry & orange, pomegranate.
I was going to say a jacket potato is probably better than smash as it has the skin (roughage)
Hope the pasta & rice is the unprocessed kind ie brown.
As said before 0% fat usually means loads more sugar, so beware. The sweetener Truvia (or any other sweetener made from the Stevia plant) is healthier than other sweeteners but it is expensive.
Even if you don't swim, exercising at the pool such as aquacise would be good. I don't mean classes if you can't get to them but some exercise in the water. have a look at You tube here:

ive been told that my portion sizes are small. my average meal can be eaten off a childs plastic plate.... thepractice nurse has told me i have to eat more to lose weight !!! (not cake nor chocolate
)
i was force fed veg by 2 or 3 dinnerladies every day when at school and i associate veg with being sick as i used to either spit it back at them or make myself sick if theyd managed to get some in. so trying new veg isnt going to work. i really dont like the taste, smell not feel of them in my mouth. ive done bulima as a teen and its not somewhere im going again.
ive lost 7kg so far and thats a miracle in my eyes but doc wants more ( i need to lose about 7 more stones to be normal ish ).
ive begun to exxxxxise a bit ( i work in a call centre becoming more active is a little difficult) but 20 mins on an exercise bikes a few nights week is a start i suppose...(could do more but my hips hurt so 20mins is a starting point)
ive an app on my phone that tracks what ive eaten n calories eaten / burned which helps a lot.. ive got it set at 1550 cals a day (it says its that to lose 1.5lbs a week) but we will see ( im on high dose thyroxin a day)
ive just found a risotto recipe online... it looks simple and quick so ive added that to my list of possibilites...
im currently living on 11p noodles, chicken sandwiches, pasta and jacket potates and its getting boring.
To be blunt, you need to get past the veg issue. Rationalise your fear (this is what a therapist would do) - what will happen if you try it, will you come to any harm? No, you won't, I promise!
You say you don't like the taste or smell, but there are many different types of vegetables, do you really dislike all of them, or are you trying to justify an irrational fear?
Your anxiety is real, but it is possible to overcome it. Yes, therapy would help, but there is nothing a therapist can do that you cannot do yourself (and I speak from experience very similar to your own).
Oh, and meat pie is not diet food, whomever made it!0 -
I know its not and im not concerned tbh i have to eat. For the next 2 weeks i will not have proper meals unless im off work that day (which is work 2 off 2. Work 4 off 2 work 4 off 3). While im on lates a proper meal isnt an option as i refuse to be fed something a stray dog would turn its nose up at and get charged way over the odds for in the works canteen. (Im not alone in my thoughts there btw most staff members think its vile too)so thats the last meal im going to get til sunday.
.
i dislike all veg.it smells funny. And feels slimy and the splats and the crunches it does when u chew makes my stomach churn. Ppl have tried to get me to eat it for the past 30odd years and failed. Id rather starve and give it to my rabbits than eat veg. I mean think of all the bug poo on it for a start.....
speaking of work food ive gotta find inspiration for food tomorra. will be back...does my bum look big in this sig?0
