I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
when i ate what i liked i maintained my weight (time of the month permitting). docs refused psychotherapy when i suggested it. he just put me on the tablets.and told me to get on with it...
i have in the past seen a dietician, she wasnt helpful as she told me slim fast shakes and fruit/ yogurts and 1 meal a day less than 500 cals...

Then get a 2nd opinion, or insist.
Its not up to a GP to tell you what course of action to take-its up to YOU.
A GP can (and will) advise you (for example) that pills work better, but you are perfectly within your rights to say that you want to try something else (like psychotherapy).

Are you taking Xenical just now? I'd advise against chicken nuggets and potato waffles if you are. I know you're emptying your freezer but...

Anyway when you say you don't like veg - what about in soup? There are lots of recipes for light option soups on the 'net. Have a cup or bowl before your main meal to fill you up a bit. Or even swap a couple of main meals for soup instead. If you make it like mine you'll not be hungry!
  • this gp is my 3rd opinion... 1st doc put me on xenical. 2nd doc referral to dietician 3rd gp xenical n nurse support.... so we are getting better. :)

carrie, you can still have yoghurt - just need to make sure it's very low fat. The 0% greek yoghurt is lovely

That is really not a lot to eat! Do you only have 3 meals a day? Could you introduce more? Eat 5 or 6 times a day? Add in low fat yoghurt/fruit/cheese etc?
  • Is greek yogurt as bitter as the natural stuff? Could i get away with a few raisins in it or a teaspoon of jam (thinking cheeky fruit. Not into full strawberries, they feel odd on my tongue).

tonights portion was average size.. my son eats twice or three times as much as me at meal times.. but he loves food in general.

Will try the more often eating thing... Ive upped my fruit intake so could keep going or have a go at the yogurt.

    Thanks :)

If you don't like yoghurt you could try fromage frais, maybe?

Good luck. Let us know how you get on.
